As a 'Cum Laude' and honors graduate of Columbia University and the University of Groningen in International and European Law I have extensive knowledge of these legal fields. I specialised in Public International Law, International Humanitarian Law, International Criminal Law, as well as International Human Rights Law.

I give introductory classes in these legal fields as well as more advanced classes where we will also look at current developments and the interplay with other disciplines such as Politics or Diplomacy.

Using the Socratic method I try to make my lessons as engaging as possible. This means that I will not simply lecture you but engage in a dialogue/debate with you in order to stimulate critical thinking.

I am currently working at the United Nations Office in Geneva and thus have insights into how International Law works in reality.

Depending on your needs, I give University-preparatory classes, exam-preparation classes for University students, or help with dissertations or writing/research projects. Hello! My name is Leonor and I am a Law Student from Portugal. In the last few months, I worked as an English Teacher in a Refugee Camp and Greece and before that I worked as a Portuguese and English tutor to both middle school and high school students. I had a 8.5/9 IELTS score and have lived abroad for several years, so English is a language I'm really comfortable in speaking.

I love creating worksheets and powerpoints. Furthermore, I love summarizing the topics I'm teaching in the end of each lesson and making sure the students never leave class with questions. Creating a comfortable environment for the students to make mistakes is something I consider really important.

I would love to teach you Portuguese and English, so you can improve your legal, writing and conversational skills in both languages!
