These classes are designed to help students currently studying for their A-Level music examinations. I have experience across a number of exam boards, from AQA to Northern Ireland's CCEA. These classes focus on a number of key areas, such as set work analysis, unseen listening analysis, and written essay exam preparation. These classes use a discussion-led approach to learning, ensuring students can improve in their vocal and written understanding of music analysis.

Homework is generally given in the form of extra listening examples to immerse students further in the musical vocabulary of the set works they are required to study depending on their given exam board.

Originally from Derry, Northern Ireland, I am a recent Musical Theatre graduate from the Royal Academy of Music. Now living in London, I provide music tuition for students preparing for a broad range of exams.

I have a wide range of music knowledge, combining my musical theatre expertise with more classical teaching from the University of Oxford, where a graduated with a 2:1 in BA (hons) Music. This makes me well suited to teaching exam syllabi as the scope of study has become broader in recent years, including areas of study which are moving away from the standard classical canon of Western music.

Classical and Musical Theatre Singing Lessons for all ages

The main aim of these lessons is to help singers from a wide range of prior experience and ability to further their passion for singing.

I am a recent MA Musical Theatre graduate from the Royal Academy of Music and have a wealth of performance experience in the genre. I am also classically trained and have achieved distinctions in classical voice grades as well as a BA (hons) Music degree from the University of Oxford where I achieved the cohort's highest grade for my performance recital in 2022. I have experience performing in operatic productions, another genre which keen students can gain tuition.

BIO:
Silvio, born in 1986, is a pianist, composer and educator originally from Italy. He began studying classical piano at the age of eleven and went on to major in piano at the Conservatory of Lecce, graduating with full marks in 2005. After falling in love with jazz and improvisation when he was nineteen, he attended Lecce State Conservatory on a full jazz scholarship in 2011.
Silvio specializes in many styles of piano and has received numerous prizes at national piano competitions.
In addition to being a musician, Silvio has expertise in business. He graduated with first class honours (110/110 cum laude) in Economics and Finance from the University of Salento in 2013.
His album “Flowing” is the result of a prize in the music competition "Giuseppe Tricarico" (May 2016 - Gallipoli, Italy) which he won and which allowed him to produce this record. It was released in December 2018.
In September 2018 Silvio had the chance to lead workshops about jazz music in Santo Domingo at Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, National Conservatory of Music and Academia de Música de Patricia Logroño.
In June 2019 he was one of the Top Prize winners at the International Online Quebec Music Competition (Montreal, Canada), where he played his own composition called “Latin Jazz Etude – Una Noche en el Barrio”, and in July 2019 he won the First Place at the San Francisco International Innovative Music Competition (Summer Edition).
Since December 2018 he has been collaborating as sheet music arranger with a US-based website, the world's leading digital sheet music retailer.
Silvio is also a music teacher with many years of experience, whose students range in age from 5 to 60 plus. He encourages music study not only for performance success, but also for personal development. In 2019 he attended music pedadogy courses at the Conservatory of Lecce.
Since 2014 he‘s been the vicepresident of the Music School and Association “Oda – Officina Degli Artisti” (Taurisano, Italy).

My name is Juan Ignacio. I'm a multi-instrumentalist, guitar technician (I repair/build solid body and chambered guitars), music tutor and producer/mixer.

I have 23 years of experience as a guitarist and 18 of them have been as a guitar tutor (beginner, intermediate and advance).

BIOGRAPHY:

Juan was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of nine he started teaching himself how to play guitar, bass, keyboards and drums; before joining local bands and performing around the country.

After studying sound engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Lanús, he worked as a live sound engineer and separately on a number of music productions in his home studio. He also trained as a luthier/guitar technician, building and repairing stringed instruments alongside his father, using his surname as a brand.

In 2014 Juan moved to London to develop his skills and connections. His passion and commitment to music led him to working at guitar repair workshops around the capital city, including Camden Town and the well-known Denmark Street. He repaired guitars for artists like the legendary Jarvis Cocker (Pulp), Mercury Prize-winner Michael Kiwanuka, Grammy-winners Mumford & Sons, and King Krule. He later taught Brit Award-winners Bastille how to play the traditional rhythms of his home country.

In 2017, Juan started composing a wide range of music genres for all kinds of audio-visual media productions, including advertising campaigns for: Samsung, Coca-Cola, MasterCard, Nesquik, Avon and Breil

At the same time, he played with a host of different bands as a guitarist, and busked around town. Juan was hired to work as a guitar technician at Abbey Road on live recording sessions. During this period spent in the studio, mastering engineer Wharton spotted Juan’s potential and encouraged him to focus more of his attention on writing, releasing and performing his own material

Two keywords form the base of the singing technique I teach: relaxation and engagement. Inspired by the Alexander technique, we need the body to be completely free from any muscle tension before and after producing a sound. Then, to create a sound of quality, the body also needs to be engaged and free. By releasing all the unnecessary tension, you will be able to sing all the arias of your dreams. I will give some weekly exercises in singing and music theory and we will correct them together during the lesson.
I was part of the choir of the French public radio broadcaster for 7 years. I have a diploma in Music theory from the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt. I even have a degree in Pop music and I am currently finishing my Master's in musical theatre and composition.

I always make sure all pupils enjoy their lessons giving a friendly and fun approach to them. Regardless of age and skill level I want my students to be able to enjoy their time practicing and playing. I can prepare students for all grades of the ABRSM or other boards exams and I complement the lessons with music theory and aural skills training when needed. I can also offer music theory lessons that being to complement music education, prepare for the ABRSM music theory exams or just to expand the knowledge in that area.
The approach for in-person and online tuition are quite similar. I effectively teach using both methods with great results in both. When online, I make sure they are of exceptional quality and the pupil gets the same results they would get in person. They are ideal if traveling is a limitation for the student or just want to take them from the comfort of their home using their own instrument.

My name is Andrea, I have recently concluded my Artist's Master in keyboard instruments at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. My passion for music induced me to apply in the “Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria” in the course of Harpsichord as my principal study. After 10 years studying music and obtaining the diploma of “Grado de Enseñanzas Profesionales” in the conservatory, I developed a deep interest for Classical and Early music for keyboard instruments.

Discovering a historical and musical universe, I decided to continue my performing and theoretical investigation studying the bachelor course in keyboard instruments including piano, harpsichord and organ. I had the amazing opportunity to obtain a scholarship and study at the "Conservatorio Tartini di Trieste", in Italy. Working with exceptional teachers, i was able expand my linguistic abilities and cultural appreciation for the expressive diversity of Keyboard music. I have discovered the magnificent variety between many composers all around Europe and the distinct features and techniques they utilized to improvise and to embellish their pieces. During this artistic journey, i have had extraordinary performance experiences as a soloist including playing at the Parlament of Brussels and the National Gallery in Bosnia. Recently, living in London has inspired me to take part in a wide variety of exciting projects such as performing as a keyboard accompanist in Opera Scenes and with the Guildhall Baroque Orchestra in the Milton Court Concert Hall.
