I find languages very exciting. They integrate us globally and help us understand the world and enjoy cultures through different perspectives, developing a deeper connection with a dynamic society. As a native Spanish speaker from Venezuela, and having lived in many parts of the world, I focus on speaking clearly and as neutral as possible, depending on the student's needs. I learned English at a very young age and developed strong language skills that helped me become an English and Spanish tutor in my alma mater, William Paterson University of New Jersey. I have also taught English and Spanish in academies and privately in Venezuela and the US, as well as in Mexico to children, teenagers and adults at every level, from beginner to corporate, technical and exam preparation.

I got my Master degree in Lemmensinstituut, Leuven with Raphaella Smits. I am an experienced teacher and I am offering private guitar lessons and group lessons at my place or on location for any level and age, from beginners to more advanced.

Ik ben een studente van 20 jaar die graag gitaarles geeft aan beginners in de buurt van Leuven en Rijmenam. (Ik ben zelf van Rijmenam maar studeer in Leuven)

Zelf heb ik les gevolgd vanaf mijn acht jaar. Ik ben vorig jaar dan ook geslaagd met een slaagpercentage van 90 procent. Wekelijks heb ik zowel individuele les gekregen als in groep.

Gitaar spelen is altijd al mijn passie geweest en daarom zou ik nu graag zelf willen les geven.

I am passionate about teaching guitar! Over the last 10 years I have been teaching students from ages 7-70 from complete beginners to advanced players with one thing in common - their wish to play guitar more comfortably and have fun while doing it!

I am a classical guitarist with a background in pedagogy, psychology and physiotherapy, my approach - methodical.
While working on the things you want to improve and learn I will also help you develop a deep understanding of the theory and principles that music is built upon. Our lessons will be exploratory and imaginative whilst also underpinned by technical knowledge so that you can enjoy playing comfortably and without pain.

My aim is to get you to where you want to be playing guitar, whether that be for friends at New Year or on the stage at Carnegie Hall!

Are you a beginner who has started to learn guitar on his own, and can't see the trees for the wood anymore? Or do you already have some experience and want to learn something new? Then you've come to the right place!

About myself:
I have been playing both guitar and bass guitar for 8 years. I also have a solid foundation in music theory. I took lessons with Kristof Neyens (rock school leuven) for several years, and now I would like to share my experience.

Classes:
Depending on your preference, we can draw up a lesson plan together with individual assignments. I also try to work as much as possible with the genres that you like to listen to yourself, this is of course more motivating (after all, you don't want to try to teach Mozart to a Metal fan ;))

My approach is certainly not like that of the 'music theory' at the academy. From your first lesson you will immediately start playing songs. I only use music theory if it is really necessary or if you would like to delve into it.

Practical:
I follow distance education so I can actually go at any time of the week, online lessons are also a possibility.

De lessen zijn vooral gericht op absolute beginners. Jongeren die interesse hebben in gitaar spelen, maar niet goed weten waar te beginnen. Is je doel een paar van je favoriete nummers leren spelen, een eigen nummer kunnen schrijven én opnemen of gewoon een goede basis muziektheorie onder de knie krijgen. Het kan allemaal. We kijken waar jouw interesses liggen en dit zal beslissen welke richting de lessen uitgaan.

De leerling oprecht gepassioneerd krijgen en zorgen dat hij/zij met plezier een gitaar zal vast nemen buiten de lessen, is belangrijker dan keer op keer dezelfde toonladders te herhalen.

My name is Davy, I am 34 years old and have had the guitar in my fingers for 25 years. I graduated from the Music Academy Tongeren for both classical and electric guitar. In addition, I attended 2 years of Conservatory Jazz at LUCA School of Arts Campus Lemmens Institute. I started teaching in various situations since I was 16, both group lessons and individual lessons on instrument and music theory. Sharing my knowledge with others has always been a great passion.
