Yoga for Teens--Increase Focus, Reduce Stress, and Improve physical strength and flexibility

Teens today have an ever-increasing stress level, between school, extracurricular activities, social pressures, and increased technology and social media usage. Yoga offers an incredible opportunity for students to improve their physical, mental, and emotional health. Students will learn yoga poses to build strength, coordination and flexibility, breathing exercises to increase emotional awareness, reduce stress, and increase focus and self-esteem in a positive, non-competitive environment. Each class will include a variety of yoga poses, including arm balances, inversions, and partner poses (if more than one person), breathing and mindfulness exercises, and an opportunity for journaling and reflection.

About Me

Hey there!
I’m Colleen Wisor…mama, educator, yoga + mindfulness instructor, and Founder of Wise Star Wellness. My life’s work is dedicated to empowering children and families with the tools necessary to live the happiest and healthiest life possible.
I’ve spent my entire professional career working with children and families: as a program coordinator for a children’s non-profit, an early childhood classroom teacher, and, for the better part of the last decade, as a yoga and mindfulness instructor. I hold yoga certifications from Three Sisters Yoga and Karma Kids yoga in New York City and earned my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Columbia University.

I believe the foundation of a healthy life is emotional wellness, skills that are often missing in our increasingly fast-paced, technology-rich and oft high-pressure society. Over the course of my career, I’ve supported hundreds of children, teaching them tools for self-regulation, stress relief, and self esteem.

Out of my 10 years of teaching was born a desire to create a safe, inviting space to cultivate deeper connections with families in order to foster social-emotional health and wellness and enhance communication skills in children and their parents. To take time out of their day to do less, not more—and reap all of the incredible benefits. I'm excited to provide families with the opportunity to join me online and in-home for classes to allow them to unplug and reconnect with each other in order to live their happiest, healthiest lives possible.

Yoga for the whole family! In this class, children and parents will enjoy a nurturing, supportive, non-competitive atmosphere as they stretch and energize their bodies and minds, learn to express themselves creatively and practice working cooperatively in groups through physical poses, partner poses, yoga games, and breathing/relaxation techniques. They’ll be introduced to activities they may have not tried before, learn mindfulness, self-calming techniques, relaxation, and develop special friendships all while having loads of fun! This is a wonderful opportunity to unplug and reconnect with your family.
Yoga and Mindfulness are incredible tools to help calm the mind and body. Children greatly benefit from this practice, as it supports their physical and emotional health, increasing strength, coordination and flexibility while also giving them the tools for emotional regulation, increasing focus, decreasing stress and anxiety, and boosting self esteem. Storytime Yoga uses the power of story and imagination to teach children yoga poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to increase overall health and happiness while connecting with the important adults in their lives. We’ll bark in downward dog, jump like a frog, and smell the flowers, all while gaining the benefits listed above.

Fascia flows to free your body. Reset the body with Balance Workout
Why is pelvic mobility important? 🔆Pelvic mobility is essential to meet the simplest daily functional needs such as walking or climbing stairs. The pelvis is the center of gravity and the largest bone complex in the human body. It is an insertion point for strong muscles: they form the muscular chains that have the pelvis as an anchor point. The shortening or overtraining of some of them, due to sports postures or gestures, can generate an imbalance in the tensegrity system of the pelvic girdle and many local and adjacent problems, from muscle decompensations, pain, health problems at a visceral level and many others. aspects that are not taken into account 🧐 ✅You have to ensure that your pelvis is in a neutral position, aligned at all times and in any activity you do so that your body does not adopt wrong postures by default and avoid having problems with its mobility and consequently other derived dysfunctions, such as hernias, lower back pain. , pelvic floor problems, etc. 📌The program aims to strengthen, stretch and put into tension the muscle chains and the analytical work of the abductor, adductor, extensor and pelvitrochanter complex. All of these myofascial elements determine the pelvic position and, in doing so, create or limit the freedom of the pelvis, having repercussions on the lower and upper limbs. 🤗 Of course we are not going to leave aside the rest of the body❗️❗️😅 The training approach will be individualized, after a general and analytical body evaluation. Enough of so many aches and pains, release the superficial and deep fascia and revitalize your energy center. 🥰

HATHA YOGA/ASHTANGA YOGA/YOGA NIDRA/Meditations. Improve your physical and mental health with the best coach in Ukraine!
Hey, I'm manager of yoga instructor Diana. She's from Ukraine, so I'll help with translations and communication. Hatha yoga - Yoga helps us to strengthen the body from the outside and inside. It helps us to improve our inner state and find balance. It is an opportunity to organize thoughts and focus on the here and now. In addition, yoga strengthens the body and improves mood. It has a positive effect on the flexibility and balance of our body. What are the benefits of this practice? First of all, it helps to strengthen the human body, build endurance and willpower. This yoga helps to relax and improves the ability to cope with stress. It has a positive effect on blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Due to the diversity of this practice, it improves muscle flexibility. Also, this practice fills the body with energy, boosts immunity and improves your posture. This practice is suitable for both women and men of all ages. The practice is a bit more complicated than hatha yoga, but it is also suitable for beginners. It is possible to move further in terms of complexity, using more dynamics and increasing the complexity of asanas. Further complication is focused on the use of asanas with deflections and inverted positions. Also, you can smoothly move into Ashtanga yoga or dynamic yoga. Diana has three years of experience teaching modern dance and yoga individually. She has more than 5 years of teaching experience in groups and dozens of satisfied students. Therefore, she will definitely provide everyone with an individual approach, find the right pace and the necessary asanas. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to text me <3 Let's change our lives today, not every Monday, right?)

Physical preparation, rehabilitation, improving performance and health
I'm Raunaq, a football fitness coach with experience working as a health/fitness coach and nutrigeneticist. I have experience working with chronic pain, lifestyle habits, and mental health, focusing on improving breathing. In my Master's degree in Sports Science, I wrote my thesis on sleep optimization in elite adolescent soccer players, and I'm looking into options in clinics focused on this. The relationship between overall health, both physical and mental, and our circadian rhythms and sleep, along with the lighting environment in modern life and disconnection from nature, is mind-boggling. Equally important is breathing and the nervous system, which directly influence the quality and quantity of sleep. Last month, I gave a talk at a chess club about health and performance - I want to work as a coach for both athletes and the general population.

Yoga classes for beginners and intermediates – Focus on physical and emotional health (Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative)
Hello! My classes are adapted to each person's health, age, and mood. Before starting, we always assess how you feel, as sometimes the body needs a more dynamic practice to activate itself, while other times it requires something more relaxing and gentle. Movement through the asanas is always guided by breathing, which helps us stay connected to the present moment and calm the mind when it becomes filled with thoughts. I am particularly sensitive to those who suffer from specific physical conditions or who live with a pathology. Years ago I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that led me to approach yoga and other beautiful holistic disciplines such as astrology, tarot and Bach flowers, with the desire to better understand the functioning of the human being, both on a physical level and - above all - emotionally. Over time, I've learned to listen to my body's message and have come to understand that behind many illnesses lies a deep disconnection from oneself and a lack of self-care tools. Through a restorative and anatomically conscious approach, I adapt the practice so that each person can move safely, confidently, and respectfully toward their own limits. The goal of my classes is to help you regain balance on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. I'll wait for you on the mat!
