I specialize in helping people improve their conversation skills in English. The way I do it is I set up a topic depending on the interests of every student and depending on the topi, I introduce the language that we will be using for the situation then we will put it into action by either doing a role-play, conversation activities like brainstorming and asking open-ended questions to get a conversation going.

This class is very flexible so we can work on specific topics that the student is interested in like, business, travel, school, exams, or just basic conversation.

While the student talks, I write down any mistakes and provide feedback at the end of the conversation to give a brief explanation on the parts that the student struggled most with.

The mission in this class is to make it fun, interesting, safe and interactive. Every person has different learning abilities and I believe emotions play a large role in language learning so adapting, safety and practice are the main goals of this class..

Me especializo en ayudar a personas mejorar sus habilidades de conversación en inglés. La forma en que lo hago es preparo un tema, dependiendo de los intereses de cada estudiante y presento el lenguaje que usaremos para la situación y luego lo ponemos en acción haciendo juegos de roles , actividades de conversación como tormenta de ideas y preguntas abiertas para iniciar la conversación.

Esta clase es muy flexible, por lo que podemos trabajar en temas específicos que le interesan al estudiante, como negocios, viajes, escuela, exámenes o simplemente conversación básica.

Mientras el alumno habla, escribo cualquier error y proporciono comentarios al final de la conversación para dar una breve explicación de las partes con las que el alumno tuvo más dificultades.

La misión en esta clase es hacerla divertida, interesante, segura e interactiva. Cada persona tiene diferentes habilidades de aprendizaje y creo que las emociones juegan un papel importante en el aprendizaje de idiomas, por lo que el objetivo principal de esta clase es adaptacion, comodidad y practice.

Hi there,

My name is Armando, I am 27 years old. I am from Mexico but was raised in the United States. I am a certified English teacher and have been teaching for over 7 years. I love teaching English because growing up I could see how much people struggled at work, school and everyday like just because they couldn't speak English. Luckily I was able to learn the language at a young age and understand how it works as well as develop an American accent. When I graduated Highschool I decided to help out some of my friends and family to learn English and I started learning another language myself and found great joy doing it so I decided to take it as a career. What I love most about teaching is being able to communicate with people and help them understand the world around them since a lot of what we see today is in English. I am also a surf instructor so I love teaching people new things.

My first job as a tutor was after receiving my T.K.T (Teachers Knowledge Test) certificate from the University of Cambridge.

I worked for a company called Linguatec where I taught English face to face to a variety of people in both group and individual settings. I spent four years with this company and during my time there I learned how to manage groups of up to 10 people and how to create my own lesson plans that would integrate my students' personal interests such as movies, films or books into the lesson plan so that I could make learning as fun and interesting for them as possible.

I then worked for a company called Berlitz where I taught with their methodology which consisted in Presentation Practice Production. I enjoyed teaching this method and gained a lot from working with this company.

Following this, I worked for an online English teaching company called Open English. This was another great experience for me as I was developing my teaching skills in a completely different way. I was having then to communicate without the tools I'd usually used. This proved to be challenging but I ended up thoroughly enjoying this method of teaching. I used video conference and managed with up to 10 people with guided material, I taught both kids and adults from levels A1 to Business.

I had students from all over the world and the company focused our teaching on everyday articles that were relevant to students' choices. Classes consisted of up to 10 students per class.
