Discussion of a Book, a Short-Story, a Poem, or a Movie.
In this class, we analyse and evaluate works of narrative art together. This is how it works: Before each meeting we agree on a short-story or a poem to read (or listen to), or a movie to watch in preparation for the session. If it's a book, it has to be one which we've both read in the past. We can easily determine our mutual reads through apps like Goodreads or Library Thing. The aim of this course is to exercise your capacity for critical and evaluative thinking. By the end of this course, you should be able to produce (in speech or in writing) a coherent and methodical review of a book of fiction, poetry, or a film.

History is the vector that allows us to better understand our society, the world in which we live. It is essential for general culture. The level of the course will adapt to the level of the student, from primary to university. It is also possible to adapt it in relation to an exam or competition to be taken, or to a person wishing to complete their general knowledge on a particular subject.

This course is primarily an introduction to philosophy, ideal for beginners. We will approach the main currents, from Antiquity to the Modern Age. Introduction to philosophy: mind and consciousness
What is the nature of consciousness? Is there a self? Is the mind identical to the brain? Can life have meaning in a physical universe? These are big questions that philosophy can help tackle. Together, we will talk about how to understand these questions more precisely, look at some answers, and learn how to approach both questions and answers using critical thinking tools. Who is this class for? Students who've never taken philosophy, adults who are interested in exploring big ideas, and scientists and entrepreneurs who'd like to learn how to think about these questions in a more rigorous way.

Philosophie niveau lycée : préparation au baccalauréat de philosophie
La philosophie est une matière souvent mal vue ou perçue comme difficile, c'est pour cela que l'enseignement de la philosophie est délicat. Pour se faire, il faut aider un maximum l'étudiant dans ses révisions, dans la compréhension et dans l'abord de la matière. Le but de ce cours est de mettre l'étudiant ou l'élève en confiance avec la matière afin d'aborder plus sérieusement les notions et les exercices demandés pour les examens finaux : le baccalauréat de philosophie. Afin d'aider au mieux l'élève ou l'étudiant, nous reviendrons ensemble sur les difficultés et ou les incompréhensions pour les corriger et permettre à ce dernier de réussir au mieux sa scolarité en philosophie. Nous aborderons alors plus sereinement les exercices écrits tels que la dissertation ou l'explication de texte. Afin de préparer au mieux l'élève ou l'étudiant, je propose plusieurs exercices écrits voire des bacs blancs en fin d'année pour évaluer concrètement l'élève ou l'étudiant et lui permettre de se situer pour le jour de l'examen. Plus on s'entraine, plus c'est simple pour la suite. Je suis toujours à l'écoute et remets en question mes méthodes si cela ne fonctionne pas. Ce cours est un lieu de bienveillance, sans jugement. Ce cours sert à progresser à sa vitesse sans d'autres élèves autour. Le cours se propose comme un cours magistral ou comme une discussion constante entre l'élève et moi-même.

The course begins with a small presentation, in order to relax the atmosphere. Then we do the homework! I use a playful method to prevent the student from getting bored. The goal is to guide the student towards autonomy, but also to develop his self-confidence. I accompany the student in his difficulty in literary matters.

French private lessons are for students wishing: - consolidate their bases in grammar, spelling - improve their language skills (allophone students) - improve their speaking skills (conversation classes) -profect the written expression - ECR exams - prepare for the written examinations at the end of the studies (maturity, certificate of completion) - help with the writing of works of maturity (or other works of end of studies), of dissertation - work on argumentative texts - acquire a method to analyze literary texts - fill gaps - improve their spelling - prepare for oral exams (maturity, compulsory leaving certificates) - learn how to perform bibliographic research For help with writing: The objective is above all to acquire effective tools. The student will thus be able to learn to structure his ideas, argue coherently (and convincingly) and enrich his vocabulary. It is essential for me to have written work from the student between each lesson. For the corrections of end of studies work: so that the meeting with the student is at the most profitable, I ask him to send me his writings before the meeting. Apart from my presence with the student, any course involves a preparation time before and after the lesson, including the work that I correct. My goal is to design an individualized course, so I take the time to write detailed comments on corrected work or tips to ensure maximum success for everyone. For example, an editorial correction can easily be the subject of a detailed commentary of 4 typewritten pages. For adults (FLE): In order to optimally prepare the first ones, I take the initiative to inform myself in advance of their objectives / expectations. Whether to practice speaking in everyday life, the professional world or to practice oral presentations, I prepare either PPT or technical sheets in advance that I send by mail ( after booking on the website). The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling. Of a general nature, a concrete situation that responds to the learner's needs is the starting point. From this situation, I address the essential grammatical points.
