AQA English Literature A-Level Tutoring from an Oxbridge Student

This class is for students of the AQA English Literature A-Level course, studying one or more of the following texts: Othello, ‘Isabella’, ‘La Belle Dame sans Merci’, ‘Lamia’, ‘The Eve of St Agnes’, Death of a Salesman, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Kite Runner, Songs of Innocence and of Experience, and/or unseen poetry.

When taught properly, I believe English Literature is a pleasure to study and to teach. With me, you'll learn to read texts on a deeper level than before, singling out extracts and quotes to study in depth, and learning the analytical skills, organisational skills, and exam technique to produce brilliant essays. I can provide a structured scheme of work across several lessons to get you to the level you believe you need. Equally, I can be flexible and tailor one-off lessons to whatever issue you're struggling with at the time.

My aim is for you to find yourself looking at texts in a new light, with historical and social context to back you up in some truly original analysis that will earn you top marks in an exam.

About Me

I'm a second-year student at Oxford, reading Law with French Law. I'm a dual British-Hungarian national with experience tutoring for the LNAT, Oxbridge admissions, personal statement mentoring, French, English Literature, and History. For the specifics of what levels I offer, please have a read of the list at the bottom.

I'm passionate about my law degree, but also about language-learning, literature, politics, and many more subjects. Studying a law degree and the process of getting there is all about rounding you out as a person with myriad interests, and I strive to engender the same intellectual curiosity in all my students. Whether you're looking to immerse yourself in a subject or just get through exams, I'll be sure to make the process fun for you.

How I teach will depend on what you want out of the lesson, so I'll encourage you to share your interests and needs with me as much as possible. I can tailor lessons to a particular topic you want to cover, or I can design a structure for a series of lessons to get you where you want to be in that subject, making adjustments for your needs throughout. The point is, I'll adjust to your level. Classes will be all about the discussion - engaging you in the subject, but at the same time, always making sure you leave with a useful set of resources to study from later should you wish to.

These are the subjects I offer:

French: language-learning from total beginners to A-level, including speaking, reading, writing, and/or listening. A-level texts/films: Un sac de billes, Un long Dimanche de fiançailles
If you are intermediate-level or above, expect interesting, topical discussions!

English language-learning: conversation, reading, writing, listening, and/or speaking for intermediate to advanced level language-learners

English Literature A level tutoring for the following texts: Othello, ‘Isabella’, ‘La Belle Dame sans Merci’, ‘Lamia’, ‘The Eve of St Agnes’, Death of a Salesman, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Kite Runner, Songs of Innocence and of Experience

History A level tutoring for the following periods: The Tudors: England, 1485-1603; Democracy and Nazism: Germany, 1918–1945

LNAT tutoring: coaching for multiple-choice questions and essay-writing technique

University admissions tutoring: personal statement support, mock interviews, interview prep, Oxbridge interview prep/tutorial tasters

Education

Second-year student reading Law with French Law at Oxford
First Class in Law Moderations (first-year university exams)
A* in English Literature, French, History, and Mathematics A-Levels
A in AS Politics
A* in 11 GCSEs
LNAT score of 31 (significantly higher than the national and the Oxford average)

Experience / Qualifications

I have experience tutoring students of ages ranging from twelve to eighteen, tailoring content to different subjects, interests, and needs.
Most importantly, I teach only for the topics that I myself covered so that I have first-hand experience of the exams, and I have resources specially prepared for those subjects which got me top marks, and will get you the same with some guidance.
Regarding Oxbridge mentoring and law admissions preparations, I've been through it myself, having successfully carried out a mock interview and then the real thing, getting into my chosen College. It's an arduous process, but the best way to prepare is practising and challenging yourself. The particular style of Oxbridge interviews means that it is easy to be fazed, and hard to prepare alone. With my experience and support, you'll know what to expect, and so you'll be familiar enough with the style of questions to be able to perform to the very best of your abilities. As someone who went to a comprehensive state school, I know how important confidence and familiarity with the process can be, and I'm eager to help supply it.
This class is for anyone who wants to learn French, whether you're a complete beginner or you're well into your GCSE or A-level. I'm a Law with French Law student at Oxford, so I'm passionate about language-learning at all levels. I achieved full marks at GCSE and A-level, so I know exactly how challenging the exams can be and how you can ace them all the same, and I'm eager to pass on my knowledge. I have tutored students of various ages, from twelve to eighteen, so the level will be tailored exactly to your needs and interests (or your child's). This can be language-learning for its own sake or else GCSE or A-level exam preparation. Whatever the reason, classes will be fun and engaging. Apart from the many discussions and activities designed to suit your needs, you'll come away from each class with some fantastic resources to continue studying on your own if you want to. You can come to me with a specific request about what you want to focus on, or equally tell me what level you want to get to, and I'll design a series of classes to get you there, and have some fun on the way. I look forward to meeting you!
This course is for anyone looking for an AQA A-level history tutor covering the following periods: 'The Tudors: England, 1485-1603' and 'Democracy and Nazism: Germany, 1918–1945' History is a facilitating subject; it gives you the analytical and critical thinking skills to go on to do pretty much anything afterward. I loved the subject, getting an A* in my exams, and going on to study law at Oxford. It's also a challenging subject, heavy on content and requiring excellent exam technique. With me, you'll learn all of that and more; I'll prepare you thoroughly, whether that's via targeted lessons on specific subjects you've requested, or by following a scheme of classes I will design specifically for you. I'll help you not only to learn the content, but also to learn how to use it, crafting excellent essays which will earn you top marks and develop vital skills.
This course is for anyone needing help with English language-learning, particularly for conversation, reading, and writing. I'm a native English speaker and a second-year student at Oxford reading Law with French Law. As such, my English is excellent, but I also know what it's like learning a foreign language (in my case, French). If you need someone to have basic or more advanced discussions with or someone to help you out with reading and writing tasks, whether that's just to further your own English skills or whether it's for an exam, I can guide you through the whole process. With experience tutoring all age groups, I will always make classes engaging and tailored to your level.
This course is for anyone preparing to take the LNAT or undergoing university admissions for a law degree in the UK. I'm an Oxford student in the second year of a Law with French Law degree. Having passed the LNAT and a rigorous applications process with flying colours, I'm well-placed to provide tailored guidance for the exam, interviews, and crafting a personal statement which reflects your greatest strengths. Most of all, I'm passionate about my degree, so I can show you what it means to study the law at a high level, challenging and supporting you so that you go into the process with your eyes open and with a real interest in your chosen subject. So if you just want a taste of the law or Oxbridge-style teaching, or if you want a comprehensive course of mock interviews and personal statement support, get in touch - I look forward to meet you!

Real Teacher Holder of Education, author of textbook (language & phonology) 23 years of experience offers neck
* Training linguist and author of textbook as such. => I am not a student in L1 who had a good grade in the Baccalaureate. I am a practicing, qualified teacher and holder of National Education. Teaching can not be improvised. This is something I feel I do well with 23 years of experience. I remind parents that to have 10/20 to the Baccalaureate, just have the level A2 (which is theoretically expected at the end of 3rd) so I let you imagine the despair of engineering students who must get at least 750 to the TOEIC! It's the equivalent of level B2!) * Daily monitoring possible via internet. * Each course gives rise to a detailed report. * In-depth knowledge of the European Framework. (A1 => C2) * Work of language activities. * Specialized in "phonology": intonation, word accent, links ... The grammar of the oral. * Adaptation to all levels: => College - High school: beginner, false beginner ... => Post-baccalaureate: TOEIC preparation, TOEFL, iELTS, Cambridge First Certificate, Advanced Certificate. => Oral and writings of the grandes écoles such as ENA => Oral and written business schools (Tremplin-Passerelle ...) => Engineering school: preparation for TOIEC.

French private lessons by university graduate in Letters
BE CAREFUL !!! IMPORTANT INFORMATION !!!! Due to the current situation, all of my courses are offered exclusively online at the moment. Thank you for your understanding. French private lessons are for students wishing: - consolidate their bases in grammar, spelling - improve their language skills (allophone students) - improve their speaking skills (conversation classes) -profect the written expression - ECR exams - prepare for the written examinations at the end of the studies (maturity, certificate of completion) - help with the writing of works of maturity (or other works of end of studies), of dissertation - work on argumentative texts - acquire a method to analyze literary texts - fill gaps - improve their spelling - prepare for oral exams (maturity, compulsory leaving certificates) - learn how to perform bibliographic research For help with writing: The objective is above all to acquire effective tools. The pupil will thus be able to learn to structure his ideas, to argue in a coherent (and convincing) way and to enrich his vocabulary. For the corrections of end of studies work: so that the meeting with the student is at the most profitable, I ask him to send me his writings before the meeting. Apart from my presence with the student, any course involves a preparation time before and after the lesson, including the work that I correct. My goal is to design an individualized course, so I take the time to write detailed comments on corrected work or tips to ensure maximum success for everyone. For example, an editorial correction can easily be the subject of a detailed commentary of 4 typewritten pages. For adults (FLE): In order to optimally prepare the first ones, I take the initiative to inform myself in advance of their objectives / expectations. Whether to practice speaking in everyday life, the professional world or to practice oral presentations, I prepare either PPT or technical sheets in advance that I send by mail ( after booking on the website). The other alternative is to make a PV of the course that I send (or that I print). Giving importance to keeping a written record on the one hand to better memorize the topics covered, on the other hand to better assimilate the spelling. Of a general nature, a concrete situation that responds to the learner's needs is the starting point. From this situation, I address the essential grammatical points.

Peishan
Chinese turor for Chinese/ Mandarin (simplified and traditional )
Giving my background in Foreign Languages and Literature as my bachelor study, and Adult and Continuing Education as my master degree, I gain great professional abilities in languages and education. Since I was 18 years old, I've been offering language teaching to the students, who are from 5-70 years old. I possess a wide range of Mandarin teaching experiences that I've given one-to-one and group classes before, and even online classes to people all over the world, through which I gained all the experiences teaching people with all the different culture and also all levels from A1-C2, and even with the clients who need to prepare for Mandarin verification exams( HSK, Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì). When it comes to the most forgettable teaching experience I've ever had, I think it was my former job that I gave language and culture class in a community university for 3.5 years. There, I merged language teaching, diversified culture, with European and South-East Asian cooking, and it was certainly a great fun. I am now also working in the international school in Geneva for the IB exam system, which is pretty challenging, but it broadens my abilities. With more than 10 years of working in the Mandarin as well as English tutor/ teaching field, I believe my qualifications will match your learning requirements.

English for beginners , learn to speak english with me via webcam
English is a West Germanic language that was first spoken in early medieval England and is now a global lingua franca. Named after the Angles, one of the Germanic tribes that migrated to England, it ultimately derives its name from the Anglia (Angeln) peninsula in the Baltic Sea. It is closely related to the Frisian languages, but its vocabulary has been significantly influenced by other Germanic languages, particularly Norse (a North Germanic language), as well as by Latin and Romance languages, especially French. English is the third most widespread native language in the world, after Standard Chinese and Spanish. It is the most widely learned second language and is either the official language or one of the official languages in almost 60 sovereign states. There are more people who have learned it as a second language than there are native speakers. English is the most commonly spoken language in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand, and it is widely spoken in some areas of the Caribbean, Africa and South Asia. So as you can see we widely need to speak english in nowadays , it's necessary once you are abroad and don't speak the language of the country .
