After my classical guitar studies at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, I started to specialize in music pedagogy with a specific focus on instrumental learning by ear and creative music making. Because of my insight into musical learning, I can adapt my lessons to your level and your preferences. I also have experience with various musical styles, so I'm flexible in that too! Lessons take place at my home in Antwerp, but on location is also possible (subject to a fee and only for lessons of 1 hour).

- About the course-- My method is to work the technique and the musicality at the beginning of the tastes of the student so that the objectives are always stimulating. I try to develop as quickly as possible to the students, that is to say to make them able to target their own difficulties and to invent the exercises to solve them. --About me-- I am a guitar teacher for over 15 years, privately, music school (Kraainem, Waterloo, Enghien) and internship (AKDT). I started the guitar 25 years ago and have never stopped. I went through all styles: from classical to pop songs and then to electric guitar: blues, rock and then jazz (with Frankie Rose). Later, I developed flamenco (with Karim Baggili), Brazilian (with Osman Martins), gypsy music and Eastern European music (with Tcha Limberger). I am also versed in gypsy jazz. I can give classes of any level and any style. I give the theory in parallel of what is worked so that it enters in a passive way. I have experience with children as well as adults. Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (…). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (…). Who is this workshop for? For anyone curious about sound, all music, music in general, who wants to manufacture, build, examine ... (from 12 or 13 years old). Do you need to know music theory? The proposed route can be adapted to any multitrack sequencing software. The computer is only a tool, it is the composer who makes the music. Practically what do we do? The composer works “from the sounds” that he has most often recorded himself. He chooses them, assembles them, deforms them, mixes them according to his project, at will. of his intuition, his ideas and desires, gradually builds a music. For those who wish and need it, exercises are offered which allow to approach at the same time techniques of realization and precise musical proposals. Composition / Invention It is not a question of declaring themselves all composers, but of affirming that we can all ask ourselves composers' questions, with both seriousness and imagination. To confront the game of a free invention. What musical orientation? What style ? This is a “musical research” process: seek to invent a music beyond traditional values - note pitches, regular pulsations, instrumental timbres - without forbidding all that. A “music of sounds”, in the broadest possible sense, a “music of all sounds “as opposed to what one could obviously call too simplified“ a music of notes ”. I offer private music theory tutoring lessons to students of beginner level of different ages Depending on the student's final goal we adjust the knowledge and skills that we focus on with the student. I mostly focus on classical music theory, but can also provide an introduction to jazz and pop music theory.
