Fashion designing is a complex process that requires detailed planning and the right execution. This program is designed to show you the professional processes and stages to creating your first design sheet. You will learn basic sketching to illustrate your design thoughts and turning your ideas into visible technical sheets that can be used by a manufacturer or a tailor/ seamstress to make your design idea for you. This class is a beginners guide learning how to gather ideas and draw your design on paper and applying the required information to your drawing for creating a garment. These classes is ideal if you are looking at advancing into a career in design and want to add additional skills to your Cv and or want to learn learn about how the whole design process works on a professional level. Whilst this course does not currently include sewing, you can progress from the technical drawings to creating your own paper patterns that you can use to create your own physical garment at a more advance level.

Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are the industry standard software within the fashion industry. I am a Fashion Designer specialized in drawing technical flats, which are the fashion industry equivalent to a blueprint. They show the manufacturer or pattern cutter the shape of the garment when laid flat, without any artistic flare or stylisation. Learning creative software can be intimidating, but it's not as hard as you might think. If you choose to work with me, no matter if you're a beginner, Intermediate or advanced, I can help you learn how to use these tools to create fashion flats for the industry standard. I can teach you how to use Illustrator and Photoshop to create technical flats starting from conception to finish, how to structure them, what details need to be added, what pencil strokes you should use. You will also learn how to insert patterns & colours, and so much more.

Sewing and wearing self-made clothes made of new material is something very special in and of itself. It is even more exciting to sew a dress from second hand clothes, curtains, duvet covers or bathrobes, especially if these also have a special sentimental meaning. If you can't sew yet, I'll teach you. If you don't have any fabrics yourself, I also offer a selection of various washed second hand fabrics that we can process. The course includes - the design and manufacture of your own pattern in katcouture style (see photo) for your dress - The selection, quality control, and maximum use of existing substances / materials - Cutting and ironing the pieces of fabric with the help of the pattern / template - Basic techniques of sewing on the sewing machine and how it works - Tips & tricks that can also be used for future sewing projects Since everyone is very individual when it comes to the time required, the times are determined individually and calculated every hour (25, -).
