JoshOnline International School Teacher - IGCSE, A-Level, AP, IB MYP/DP, etc. English, Philosophy, Business, History, Sociology, Humanities +
I am a UK-qualified teacher with a decade of experience teaching and leading at some of the best international schools around the world - Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. My work as Head of Philosophy & Humanities departments in schools included curriculum planning and design, assessing & tracking hundreds of students, supporting student university applications, and implementation of additional measures for students with specific learning support needs. I believe that education is most effective as an interesting, constructive and engaging discussion between student, class and teacher; enjoyable and stimulating, rather than stressful and pressure-laden. I keep my classes light and relevant, while also maintaining high standards for students to build their expectations for themselves.
My experiences teaching non-native English speakers in Asia, Europe, Africa and South America ensures teaching flexibility and understanding of the problems faced by international students, struggling in a subject in their second- or third-language.
I know you're having a tough time with your studies. Please feel free to message me to discuss what your exact issues are, and how we could work together to overcome those. I can provide references from previous students!
All my classes are online.

MariannaExperienced Tutor of Italian and English as a Second language
I am a tutor of Italian and English as a foreign/second language. I had the opportunity to teach in different contexts with multicultural groups of students from many countries and backgrounds. I am currently teaching Italian to individual students and corporate clients with different language requirements and purposes. I have also conducted a preparation course for Italian GCSE and A level exams in London.
I teach to all levels and ages using a communicative and student-centred approach. My lessons are very interactive and focused on real life and cultural situations.
I care about my students’ learning progress and achievements and I am keen to guide them in a friendly, dedicated and respectful manner. Moreover, one of my main goals as a teacher is to enable my students to enjoy the experience of communicating, thinking and reacting in a foreign language.
ClémenceEnglish language, culture or literature courses
Having already given English lessons in France, I offer my services to help you progress.
English is my native language, so I can teach it to you, in a fun or more serious way, through discussion and therefore correcting oral mistakes.
In writing, I can help you with spelling, grammar etc ...
HenryEnglish Literature and Language for GCSE and A-Level
I find students typically respond best to an lesson-style that closely mirrors Oxbridge-style supervisions, which might be called diagnostic; a written homework task provides not only useful opportunity for correcting rather specific details of style, grammar and dialectic --thus developing the corresponding skill of self-criticism -- but also serves as a springboard for explorations into the history, context, literary techniques and critical response of the work, or works at hand.
I hope to help the student move beyond the set-texts, authors, or plays; not only because this would of itself be interesting, helping to develop the enthusiasm that is certainly the most vital ingredient for success in exams, but because being acquainted with the broader literary/cultural context that a work is situated greatly deepens one’s understanding of it. Moving beyond the set-texts needn’t be very time-consuming; often a few short articles, a chapter of a book, a poem or a play can dramatically broaden one’s perspective. Together with acquiring knowledge of historical context, the chief aims of my lessons will also be to help the student develop their ability to analyze texts.
OscarEnglish courses to deepen British culture

SabrinaAlbanian Tuition for English Speaking Students by an Albanian Native speaker
I am a native Albanian speaker that will be able to teach you everything you want to know, boost your confidence and help you with your accent in Albanian at all levels. Albanian grammar can be very tricky and hard, but together we will make it as easy as possible!
I started teaching in Albanian about 3 years ago and I also do a part-time translation job. In addition, I always offer help to translate from English to Albanian or vice versa to Albanian family and friends.
Most of my students are Albanian children that are raised in the UK and do not speak Albanian fluently, so their parents make sure to contact me, so I can teach them and I have had amazing results! In addition, partners of Albanian natives contact me, so they can communicate better with their spouse and the rest of the spouse's family, or even try to slowly - slowly teach their newborn children!

This class is designed for anyone who would like to improve their English skills, from beginner to advanced levels. I speak German and Romanian fluently in addition to English, as well as conversational Chinese and Spanish, which may make it easier for some. I tailor the class to suit the individual; after a first session I can assess the student's goal (ie. conversational, business, written, etc. level of English) and create a program to suit this.
GusEnglish Prep Tutoring for Primary to Advanced Learners
Graduating with a First in English Literature in 2017 from Trinity College, Cambridge, I have tutored 250+ hours in the past two years, at all levels from 7+ to A-Level, and in exam boards from AQA to the UKISET for international students. I have taught both English and international students, and so am familiar with the varieties of difficulty that students can encounter and a variety of approaches for addressing them. I enjoy re-examining the elementals of the subject through tutoring.
My students have all registered often substantial improvements and I continue to be asked back by different families if they feel they need a boost. I'm happy to provide references from students and parents.
I have taught a variety of age ranges for school admissions from 7 to 13+. I have worked with students aiming for schools including Godolphin and Latymer, Harrodian, Kings Canterbury and Wycombe Abbey. The problems students have had have varied each time, from simple confidence and time-keeping issues, to more difficult ones like English being a second language or dyslexia. However every pupil I’ve taught so far has markedly improved and gained admission to at least one of the schools of their choice. I think my main strength as a tutor is an ability to explain concepts dealing with question structure and exam technique, and help the student to gently internalise them and gain their own confidence. I aim to strike a balance between engaging, personal commitment to making the student see and realise an organic interest in reading and writing, alongside the necessity of navigating exam requirements - but without making them seem restrictive or daunting.
I really enjoy trying to individualise lessons for the student's specific needs and so will also try to stoke a personal interest and response to material studied, as I believe this makes for a much more enjoyable and painless process of learning. I am always keen to recommend or discuss specific books or authors of possible help or interest to students or parents. I aim to strike a balance between engaging, personal commitment to making the student see and realise an interest in reading and writing, alongside the necessity of navigating exam strictures and requirements - without making them seem restrictive or off-putting.
I can also help with general essay-structuring/researching/writing skills in subjects not related to English. I can also help with Drama and Theatre-related studies.
