Hi!
my name is Fran, I'm a master's graduate and I'm offering English lessons for all ages and levels.

Whether you are preparing for an exam (TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge), you need help with your homework, or just want to improve your vocabulary while having a nice conversation, I will adapt to your needs and objectives.

I'm a responsible but easygoing person, and I believe that having a good time is a fundamental factor while learning a new language. That's why I will include materials from literature, cinema, or music so we can enjoy and work on them together :)

Through my formal qualifications (C1+ TOEFL, C2 Cambridge) and years living abroad, I have gained extensive experience using English daily, and I will teach you how to navigate the language within different contexts.

Online classes can take place on any platform (Zoom, teams, etc.), and if you live in Brussels I can move to any place of your convenience.

I hope that I got your interest, and if so, don't hesitate to ask any questions!
Extra information
If you have any particular material to work with just let me know in advance so I can adapt myself to it

I am a native American English speaking instructor, editor, and journalist from Florida specializing in teaching, instruction, exam prep, and text correction for a wide range of professionals & students across Belgium.

Approaching from a true native's perspective, I instruct and assist with both educational and business English in a multi-faceted nature covering a wide range of areas including comprehension, conversation, grammar, and situational skills, in addition to working on general language skills and accent training.

My past & present clients have included: professionals from all four major EU institutions, the Belgian government, various NGOs, and musicians, journalists, engineers, as well as a variety of other professions in addition to traditional students. As well, I can provide extensive help and training with the EPSO, IELTS, and TOEFL exams.

I have also written, edited or proofread a variety of academic papers, theses, applications, CVs, and other documents for numerous satisfied academic and professional clients.

I have spent my entire childhood and adult life in the United States before completing a master's degree in Political Science and European Politics at KU Leuven. I have an extensive knowledge and experience of English grammar and literature, as well as current and past working experience in journalism (Anti-Competition Law and European Policy at the Policy and Regulatory Report) and both European and American politics.

I also handle correction of text, editing, proofreading and ghostwriting, with weekly and monthly rates possible. My transportation costs are included.

1. What is the TOEIC?

The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) is a language test developed by the Educational Testing Service (Princeton, USA). It measures/demonstrates the language skills that everyone in today's multinational work environment needs to communicate successfully in a foreign language.

2. Who uses the TOEIC?

The TOEIC test is one of the most widely used English-language tests in the world, with more than 14,000 organizations and universities in more than 160 countries relying on TOEIC scores to make important decisions.

3. What is the TOEIC used for?

The TOEIC is used to help organisations to:
• Select, hire, and/or promote their employees based on their level of English
• Select employees with adequate English language skills to participate in English language programs or training.
• Standardize the level of English language proficiency within the company.
Universities and other higher education institutions use this test to:
• Accept prospective students into their English-speaking undergraduate and graduate programs
• Measure their students’ progress
• Issue an internationally recognized English language certificate to their students.

4. How can I help you?

• I will evaluate your English proficiency level
• I will introduce you to the format and structure of the test: remember, knowing the type of tasks is half the battle!
• I will provide you with a lot of exercises and materials, and we will practice a lot
• Depending on your needs, we can focus on the Listening and Reading Test, the Speaking and Writing Tests, or both
• During the preparation, if you get to an area that is going harder, then we will do more exercises related to it or them (grammar, pronunciation, listening comprehension).
