BartInburgering training - Intensive courses to pass the exam
Hi! My name is Bart, I am 32 years old, live in Amsterdam and I'm a Dutch teacher. Having lived in several countries I know what it's like to learn a foreign language and how challenging this can be. Especially Dutch with its unusual pronunciations and unexpected structures. During our lessons, I will explain how to deal with such issues and show you that Dutch is actually quite a structured and beautiful language (although it might not always sound that way ;).
INBURGERING EXAM PREPARATION
The inburgering exam is often considered a long and stressful undertaking. With the right guidance and teaching, this does not have to be the case. My lessons are completely focused on the exam. I will make sure that you get familiar with the structure and the logic of the exam and exam questions. Once you understand this, it will save you a lot of time. We work on the skills and knowledge you need to pass the exam to get you ready for the exam!
How I teach:
1 - Your level and objective(s)
At the start, we will discuss your level and objectives. This way I can efficiently give you the help that you need.
2 - Open communication
I have an open way of teaching in which I encourage students to keep telling me what their difficulties are or where they would like to improve. In my experience, this saves a lot of time and also makes the lessons more fun.
3 - Simplify instead of complicate
I am good at listening and understanding why students are having difficulties with certain issues. This way I can simplify the issue and teach Dutch in an easy and understandable way.
4 - Involved
I am involved with my students' objectives and am constantly looking for the best and most efficient way to make progress.
EstelleiLearn French with a native speaker, professional teacher graduated from The Sorbonne
My belief is that each student is different and requires a tailor made lesson to meet that student’s needs and goals. Every class is personalised for your own profile and is adapted as needed. I give priority to conversation, convinced that even from the very first day, one can start to communicate in the new language and thus gain confidence to go on.
I base my courses on the four essential competencies: speaking, listening, writing and reading, always focusing on your personal goals and motivation. I progressively integrate phonetics, grammar, conjugation, vocabulary in the courses which always include practical exercises. You will also learn a lot about the culture as it is deeply linked to the language.
The pedagogic materials I choose are mostly created for native speakers : texts from literature, newspapers, radio podcasts, videos, songs.... Indeed, I am convinced that the learning process has to tackle « real subjects », as languages are alive and constantly changing. My main challenge is to help the learners to be able to « think » in the second language. The debate is the heart of my classroom, but always in a playful way, through many role games — for me learning a language is first and foremost a great joy !
MarcelLearning french language through different cultural approaches
This class aims to teach french language through different forms of study rather than a classic academic approach to language learning.
For example those methods can be expressed in oral conversations, study of texts, art pieces, or movies in french, and of course more conventional teaching. I believe that a language is learnt better in it's cultural context and applications rather than though a decontextualized approach. If you are interested don't hesitate to ask any question.
CharlieFrench course by a native speaker : learn french through different approaches
The purpose of this class is to learn french through the french culture and oral conversation. There will be different approaches to learning french : activities related to the french culture (cooking crêpes,...) a more conventional method of learning (for grammar for example, if needed), oral conversation (about actuality, the culture, art,...), and possibly the study of books, texts, movies in french.
During the class I will mostly speak french, and I consider oral conversation a very important part of the class. If you need to focus on grammar, orthography, or conjugation it is not a problem at all and the exercises will evolve with your specific needs and level. Usually I estimate your level and the points we need to work on during the first class so we know on what to focus on.
If you feel the need to learn even more, I will also give homework such as specific grammar exercises, and I will recommend to you some books to read in french or movies to watch depending on your interests.
