Classical Singing Lessons for beginners and advanced students
In the singing lesson we look at breathing, vocal technique, language, expression and interpretation. I take much pleasure in watching a student grow and facilitating their development and helping them on their own path. The most important thing to me is that they enjoy using their voice and telling a story through music. I have recently graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with a Master of Music degree with distinction. Through the developing of my private practice, I am becoming increasingly interested and deeply passionate about teaching singing and singing pedagogy. For me, music – and especially singing – is all about communication, between performer and audience, between composer and performer/audience, between teacher and student; it is about conveying a story and human emotions that people can relate to and that give us a sense of connection and belonging. This requires not only a deep understanding of technical skills, but also a sensitivity to the text and the way it is set into music, both melodically and harmonically.

Economics, Business, History, Italian Language, Latin (basic)
A twenty years experienced tutor in Economics in London I graduated with honours in Economics and Business in 1990 at the University of Florence, Italy. Then I attended the Academy of the Italian Customs Police, where I studied Economics and trained new recruits. Since mid-Nineties I taught as private tutor in Business and Economics to English-speaking students. I strengthened my face-to-face teaching capabilities at the European Centre for University Preparation in Florence. I delivered lectures at American universities in Florence and taught at the International School of Florence. I am a qualified financial advisor since 1993 and in 1999 I qualified as a teacher of Economics and Business. I am a UK citizen since August 2020. I really enjoy teaching, my method being based on the idea that "each student is different". I understand their needs and explain in a plain way the meaning of obscure words and technical language. I always help students understand difficult theories with practical examples.

Recorder, Flute and Clarinet Lessons Private and Small Group Tuition
The recorder is more than a squealing school instrument, it has a long history, has a beautiful tone and is an excellent gateway instrument if you want to learn other wind instruments. It teaches you finger control, breath control and how to read music without worrying about extra keys, reaching for notes if you have small hands or holding a heavy instrument. I have a Post Graduate Diploma from the Royal College of Music on the recorder having studied it as my main instrument for six years. I have taught recorder both privately, in group lessons and as a whole class curriculum music instrument. With my holistic approach, I make learning enjoyable whilst inspiring pupils to try different styles of music from the Blues to Classical. I can teach using the grade system with either examination body or I can teach for the enjoyment of a pupil learning music. I have a 100% pass rate on exams and have organised school concerts, performances at school fairs and small performances to children's classes or teachers. Alongside my main instrument, I teach beginner flute and clarinet.

English language or literature for gcse students or beginners and sociology for gcse students / a level
English Literature is an essential skill used for English gcse which I have spent a lot of detail looking in to and I - myself changed my own gcse grades drastically using a lot of time and grade specific research. I specialise very confidently in Macbeth, an Inspector calls and Christmas Carol, however research for other topics will be covered in detail before we begin sessions. I intend on supporting my students with mindmaps, pushing them to explore deeper meanings which the examiner may have not heard and also grading exam answers. I want to make this as affordable as I can as I myself was once in this position and any student is capable of drastically changing their grade. I am very passionate about this subject and want other people to see the joy in it too. We can also cover love and relations poetry or war/conflict. Sociology is another subject I’m extremely passionate about and genuinely enjoy, I intend on going through exam papers and making mind maps and analysis on key sociologist and theories. I studied family, research methods and crime at gcse and (currently) second year on sociology A level studying education, family and households and crime this year. English is my native language, I read a lot of poetry and have taught some family members English in our own ESOL style type of class so I am willing to help anybody else who may be struggling

Piano, Singing, Songwriting & Music Theory Lessons for Any Age / Level
Trusted teacher:
I am here to guide you through a crash course of whatever programme you want to get into, whether you're interested in the actual ABRSM qualification or just want to take up piano / singing / theory / songwriting as a hobby. I tend to make my lessons appropriate to every student on a personal study level. I consider that every age, personality and practice level processes information differently, especially in a creative field. Although sticking to a tested curriculum, my teaching pace can be extended or reduced depending on the student's time and dedication. Being a recent graduate myself, I apply a student-centred approach to my teaching style, prioritising the primary goal standing behind the student's musicianship. On top of personalising my curriculum, I have previous experience in teaching according to the ABRSM grading system (1-8) and Suzuki, as well as helping students with school exam preparation.

Experienced Vocal Coach trained in Jazz, folk and Pop. First class honours graduate of Jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire.
I have extensive training in music and singing and have attended The Brit School, gaining Triple Distinction* as well as Trinity Laban Conservatoire, where I graduated this year with a first class honours degree. For five months of my degree I was awarded an Erasmus scholarship to study Norwegian folk music at The Grieg Academy, Norway. This trip helped to sculpt my music and my current projects take a lot of influence from folk as well as free jazz and free improvisation. I have taught privately for two years after training for eight years. I teach budding vocalists of all ages. I have helped prepare students for exams as well as encouraged students back into singing after years out of practice. I like to take a creative approach with students, to engage with them about short and long term goals as well as encouraging them to keep practice diaries to document their progress and for self evaluation. I am very passionate about teaching as I believe it is one of the most rewarding activities - watching someone grow as they learn not only the basics of technique but when they start to develop their own sound. I believe I am an inspiring teacher and firm but fair when it comes to homework and discipline. I provide support to the students and have received feedback showing I am encouraging and helpful after each and every lesson - “ 5/5, Fantastic lessons - Rowan is great at giving feedback and at helping me set, review and achieve my personal goals. I always come away believing I have improved my knowledge and feeling inspired.” Jasmine Gorsuch, previous student. Over the last couple of years I have performed in many settings in the UK, Norway and China and have invaluable experience gigging with various ensembles. I can help students with how to lead a band confidently once they are at that level. I am also proficient in teaching composition and music theory as well as some more advanced jazz theory and harmony. I also have knowledge in music business and event planning as well as how to market yourself as an artist.
