hey! Drum Roy here. I would like to introduce myself I like to share my passion for percussion to anyone who also has the itch to get started with percussion. Percussion is a collective name for musical instruments such as a drum set, xylophone, marimba, vibraphone, timpani, glockenspiel... But also percussion instruments such as bongos, congas, triangle, cowbell, woodblock, cymbals, tambourine, bass drum, snare drum... You play percussion with a lot of feeling and a striking technique. At a young age I started taking music lessons at the Art Academy. After a first year of solfège I got the itch to take percussion. I was immediately taken aback! Ke Boom Tsss! 😀 After completing primary and secondary education at the Art Academy, I took private drum lessons to specialize even more. Besides percussion, I also play guitar and piano. Do you also feel itchy? Please don't hesitate to contact me. All info about DrumRoy can be found here: https://drumroy.weebly.com/ 👉 Tailor-made drum lessons for young and old 👈 There is no age limit for learning an instrument. Young or old, anyone who is eager to learn an instrument will also be able to do it. If you have knowledge of solfège or of another instrument, this is included. But that is certainly not a must. You don't need any knowledge of music to learn drums. Just a lot of sense and passion! Are you a novice? Then we start the lessons at your pace. You indicate which songs you like to hear and which you want to play. We build that together by starting with the basic techniques, a bit of theory, rhythm exercises and then moving on to grooves and fils. From the first lesson you can already play simple music tracks. Do you already have some drumming experience? Then together we look at where there is still progress and where you want to go. Do you prefer funk or blues music or another genre? We adapt the lessons to your wishes. START2DRUM Do you feel itchy? Then don't hesitate and start with drum lessons. 👉 Djembe is a real emotional instrument 👈 Djembe is a really cool instrument that you play with a lot of feeling. There are many sounds in there to discover. When you play djembe in a band, it gives a certain groove to the song. You add something extra and help determine the rhythm of the song. Cool African rhythms or something funky? Then everything is possible. I teach you how to play this instrument, with the right hand techniques, where the sounds are and how you are an extra dimension for the band. Do you want to learn djembe? Then don't hesitate and contact me. Together we will create a plan tailored to your needs. 👉 Percussion is rhythm 👈 If you have a sense of rhythm, then percussion is definitely for you. But even if you think you don't have a sense of rhythm, I can make sure, by using certain techniques, that you can still keep your beat. During an art and creative camp I give percussion workshops to young people aged 8 to 12 years. The aim is to introduce the young people to rhythmic instruments. I teach them to listen to a song to find out where the percussion instruments are. I teach them percussion techniques and how they conjure the sounds out of an instrument. But the most important thing is of course that the young people have fun playing a djembe, cymbal, boomwhackers, drum, cajon, ... Percussion is the collective name for all percussion instruments in a band or orchestra. These instruments are mainly accompaniment instruments. It gives rhythm to the song. Do you also feel itchy? Then don't hesitate to contact me. Regards, DrumRoy

Emiliano Della Giovanna: Professional drummer and specialized in Jazz. Born in Naples, Italy Living in Ghent, Belgium Emiliano Della Giovanna got music poured into the spoon. Born in an artistic family in Naples, Emiliano practices guitar and drums in his youth. His passion for drums encourages him to register at private music schools, where he is taught by renowned musicians, including names such as Billy Cobham, Peter Erskine, Dave Weckl and Gregg Bissonette. In 2006 Emiliano specializes in Jazz and is accepted at the conservatory in Siena, called Seminario Senesi di Musica Jazz. His talent is appreciated. He receives a scholarship to continue his studies at the seminar for Nuoro Jazz in Sardinia. In addition to his studies, he collaborates with Mr. Umberto Guarino and establishes a music school "Studio 40" in Naples. Here he teaches drum and rhythmic music theory. During and after his studies Emiliano plays in various formations, from classical orchestras to Jazz and Rock bands, including Renzo Arbore, Vittorio Marsignia and Sergio Colicchio. MSC and Costa Crociere offer him nine contracts so that, in addition to teaching on the mainland, he travels around the world for eight years as part of an orchestra aboard various cruise ships. In February 2013, Emiliano moved to Ghent (Belgium) as a proud father, where he focused on jazz, world music and rock, as well as paternity. He is also active as a teacher at the Harteklop music school. As director of the Artmusic music school in Destelbergen, founded in November 2015, Emiliano teaches drum, guitar and rhythmic music theory and organizes weekly jam sessions.

Trusted teacher: Hello! My name is Aurel and I am a French Amsterdam-based drummer. Although currently specialized in Jazz music, I have studied various esthetics, and Pop and Rock music, in particular, are part of my background (I played in several pop-rock bands). Therefore I am able to teach a broad panel of music styles. I also have many drum methods and charts at my disposal, and have experience in teaching children from the age of 6, as well as teenagers and adults. Lessons and teaching method: I always adapt to the student's tastes and learning profiles. This is why, during the first lesson, and on a regular basis afterwards, I always take time to discuss with my students (or their parents if they are very young) to figure out together the path they want or need to follow. I will use charts and methods for those who need visual support to assimilate the skills or teach by ear and by demonstrating to the ones who feel more comfortable this way. I also play electric guitar and can jam with my students, which is a great tool for developing band playing skills or simply to have a good time. For those eager to make significant progress, I offer consistent and serious monitoring, with practice recommendations. I can for instance prepare a student for an audition or an entrance exam in a conservatory. If you are willing to improve your understanding of rhythm in general, you can also benefit from my knowledge of Indian Karnatic rhythm concepts, one of the most complete traditional approaches to rhythm. Students who simply want to learn at their pace, to have fun and unwind, are definitely welcome too! About me: In addition to my jazz drums bachelor and master degrees from the conservatory of Amsterdam (CvA), which included a thorough pedagogical training and a specialization in Indian Karnatic techniques, I benefit from 4 years of experience as an employed drum teacher in two French associative music schools (Ecole de musique de Nangis and Conservatoire des Deux Rives, Moret-sur-Loing). I am also an active musician, both on the Dutch and the French scene. My trio mainly tours in France and has played at venues such as the Sunside (Paris), or participated in competitions like the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award. I am also the co-leader of the sextet Chai Masters, finalist of several European competitions (Leiden Jazz Award, Golden Jazz Trophy in Lille, France, 7 Virtual Jazz Contest). Recently, the band was part of Keep An Eye The Records's finalists (March 2022). Looking forward to meeting you and passing on my know-how to you!

Je donne cours en français - Description disponible en Français Do lezione in Italiano - Descrizione disponibile in Italiano ......................................................................................................................................................... The course method, inspired by the Agostini school (French method used in French and Belgian academies and conservatories) is divided between technique and drums. At the rate of one session each we will focus once on technique and movements outside the drums (on pads) and the other time on the drums and the application of technique and movements. -> The technique lessons and the movements will be those of the so-called 'Moeller technique' that I learned through his direct lineage of student. -> The drum lessons are greatly inspired by the pedagogy of the M.A.I. (Music Academy International - Nancy (fr)) and in particular that of Richard-Paul Morellini, renowned instructor. The courses are complete, in-depth but above all specifically thought of to be progressive. They are suitable for children from 7 years old as well as adults of all ages. => Particular attention is paid to the movements and their correct application, to the total independence of the limbs and finally to an understanding of the rhythm and its theory. My main goal is to give the student complete control behind the drums and skills to be able to self-learn any piece in any musical style. 1 hour of weekly lessons are never enough, they should only be used to fuel the passion that will make you play at home more and more. On demand or for advancs students: - I am very passionate about the study of South American rhythms. Due to their complexity, apart from the samba and Baïon ostinatos, they are not included in the program before the advanced level. They can be at the request of the student. - I am also specialized in metal (musical style) and double pedal. The latter is not included in the program unless requested by the student. The double pedal courses are based on the methodology of Virgil Donati. Technique: * Moeller technique (the 'whipping motion' - the Free stroke -Full/Half/Low stroke - accepting the rebound - its application etc.) * Snare rudiments and their applications through reading systems * Readings of scores and exercises for the snare drum * Speed drills * Military marches * Control of the different subdivisions (quarter notes - eighth notes - triplets - sixteenth notes - quintuplets - sextuplets - triple eighth notes - nonolets etc.) * Displacement of accents and polyrhythms * On request, double pedal technique (application of the Moeller to the double pedal as well as everything listed above but with the feet) Drums: * Bass drum reading and independance * Snare drum reading and independance * Applications of ghost notes * The 16 sixteenth-notes ostinatos * Jazz readings and independence * Binary and ternary readings * Coordination and movements of both feet * Dynamics on the instrument * Creation of fills and original drum grooves * On request, application of the double pedal * On request or for advanced students, readings and independence of South American rhythms (study and independence of the clave/Cascara/Mozambique etc.)

Trusted teacher: Hello, I offer drums lessons in a warm place or at your home. Come and discover the battery differently. My mission is to help you develop your own identity on the instrument. I offer you a fun approach that focuses on the pleasure of playing. Having followed training and courses throughout my life (conservatory, schools ...), I am passionate and dedicated to sharing all of my experience with you. I practice in many music groups and other structures (schools, associations ...). With more than 20 years of experience in drums and more than 10 years in percussion, I teach many musical genres (jazz through Latin music, pop, hip hop, rock, hard, punk, metal ..) , the double pedal, notions of music theory, rhythmic reading. Possibility of taking percussion lessons (darbuka, bongos, African djembe, congas, jaw harp, dhol). The programs are directly inspired by internationally recognized methods, thus being able to adapt to the needs, levels and requirements of each individual. I travel but I also receive in a room with equipment available (any age and level of practice are allowed, from initialization to professionals). A different approach to music lessons: My teaching is resolutely modern. Classes are a moment of musical and human sharing where error is used as a positive experience to move forward. We work by oral transmission to complete the scores. We use onomatopoeia to quickly develop musical and felt play, rather than just reading and playing. So ... Tempted? No excuse, I give you couses from Monday to Sunday from 8 am to 11 pm. FROM child (from 5 years old) to senior, and from beginner to professional. Registration possible all year round. Aurel
Aurel is great. He was trying to put himself in my shoes and think of why something was not working. While he was giving his feedback, he was sharing it in a very clear and supportive way. He also discussed with me what my goals are, he asked for samples of music and adjusted the class accordingly. He also very kindly offered me his old sticks and taught longer that he should’ve. Oh and he’s a fantastic drummer with very successful projects. I’m very happy to be taking classes from him.

Hanshi
I enjoyed the lesson very much and I improved a lot after all of the helpful tips and rudiments. Helped me enjoy and appreciate the drums so much more now that I can play for myself. Even after just the first lesson I felt that I was much better and I could play with music. Would truly recommend.
