I have been giving guitar lessons for a long time (maybe 10 years)! It also allowed me to evolve myself. I learned the guitar on my own so I think I found a way to easily convey things without fussing, as if I had to explain it to myself when I was starting out. Self-taught learning is not a bad thing but on the contrary an advantage because I know the things that unblocked me, I can give you advice to move faster, spot all the nonsense that you can see on the net . The passion for music and the guitar led me to be interested in different styles of music: metal, jazz funk, blues rock, folk, etc; to enrich my game. I prepare my lessons according to the student. I rarely do the same things because I build the course according to the objectives (interpretation, composition, improvisation, etc.) and the styles of music / favorite artists. The goal is to have fun playing what you like but also to open up to things. I designed my own music theory course with simple words and concrete cases. However, I do the exercises and the pieces according to the student. I have students of all ages (7 to 45 years old), like a lot of different styles, and I practice the lessons at home or in video so I am prepared for all eventualities! In our composition lessons, we’ll both learn how to get more from basic elements, like pitch and rhythm, and also the things we can do to help make a composition more poetic. We can work on how to get more music from fewer ideas to create a consistent musical language, and also explore the idea of opposites in your compositions, blending and smearing contrasting elements to add depth and complexity to your work. Through the analysis of great music, the composition of miniatures, and feedback on your current projects, you’ll both increase your technical fluency and simultaneously learn to love and develop your unique voice. Sometimes you can sit in a music lesson with your class mates and feel completely baffled as to why others are 'getting it' and you are not! If you are wanting some extra help in preparing for a music exam or even wanting to feel more comfortable with the rest of the class then this class is right up your street. Alternatively, if you would like some extra advice on performance techniques then I can help. Perhaps you are struggling with your composition tasks - that is my speciality. Then there is the analysis of a piece of music that can be so confusing that we could spend some valuable one-to-one time on. I am here to help and below are some reasons why I am well suited to give you the appropriate advice that you need. I worked in a comprehensive school teaching music for over 35 years. In that time I engaged with many different exam boards at GCSE and A level delivering a range of different courses. This experience and my passion for all aspects of music, whether it be performing, composing or listening and analysis enables me to give you the right advice. Whatever you need help with, I am very keen to be able to offer my expertise in any or all of these areas. Each of the three disciplines is intrinsically connected with the other two and having a good grasp of all three will enable you to improve your ability overall.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques.
