If this resonates, please keep reading! I am Julia, a classical violin player. I studied at Codarts university in Rotterdam and played in an Orchestral Academy for a year in Spain. I discovered I enjoy teching very much while following a minor in education during my bachelor. Throughout the course I learned pedagogy, didactics and methodology, and worked with students of different ages and levels of experience. I love teaching because it allows me to share my knowledge and challenges me to be more imaginative and flexible. The lessons are tailor-made. This means that the goals are going to be adapted to YOUR wishes taking in account previous experience, expectations and musical taste. Even though I have a classical training, I am open to work with different styles. I teach children from 5 years old onwards and adults. Where words leave off, music begins...

I have knowledge and experience in Jazz, Classical, Klezmer, Choro Music and Improvisation. You just need a precious element! • Music Theory I focus on having a good basics, spending as much as we need to understand every single thing, because then with times it becomes more easy. I try to help the student simplifying the material because then, we only with ourselves with a good procedure of the basics to solve any problem. Only with one lesson, you will understand what I mean. I have experience in preparing students for exams, the ones for the semester as well as any official exam; doesn't matter if you have an intermediate theory level and you want to improve, or if you would like to be stronger solidifying the knowledge you have (which is always the best option), or if you don’t know anything about notes and music concepts and you would like to be familiar with them. Hello! My name is Alberto. I am a clarinet player who graduated from Codarts University of the Arts (Rotterdam). I am specialized in Classical Music, though I can teach also Jazz in a beginner to intermediate level. I have always had a deep interest in chamber music, teaching and improvisation and I would like to be able to show you this passion. Viola lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced levels and violin lessons for beginners and intermediate levels, specialised in classical music, pop or Latin music. With pop and/or latin genres, we will deal with rhythmic training, arranging skills, accompanying, interpretation and basic improvisation, as well as developing good technical skills on the instrument. Generally I believe that to learn how to express yourself through your instrument is a life-long learning process. We can listening to recordings and to check how the drummer accompanies his band mates, how he expresses his solo ideas. We can transcribe comping ideas, solo ideas, and of course I'll show the approach I use to learn and to digest this information to make it mine. The internet is full of videos and tutorials about songs, chords, scales, licks and even music theory. But if you're tired of playing that song, or that lick, without being able to change it, then this class is for you. Before I entered the conservatory, I could never really understand what I was playing. And that was preventing me from expressing my musicality. By this I mean, I wasn't able to change a chord, or do a variation on a melody, or even creating an Intro. And this requires not so hard skills that can easily be developed just by thinking in music by its harmonical context.
