Cello and music theory lessons for all levels!

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
I offer private cello lessons, at your home or mine! I really like teaching, I have had cello students (music theory and tutoring as well) for 6 years and my contact with them is always very good. I am passionate about teaching, about how different personalities work and the issues specific to them and I am therefore always looking for new ways to teach them this beautiful instrument. I obtained my DEM (diploma of musical studies) in June 2024, which attests to my technical and musical level; this is why I am able to help students get started as well as help others who are already learning, up to the 3rd cycle of the conservatory for example. Contact me to find out more, especially about the price!

Le Solfège joyeux - Unblocking Solfeggio / Musical Training - personalized follow-up - flexible hours - 13 years of experience
Before instrumental or vocal technique, the quality of listening, and the development of relative ear are the keys to being able to play music. Not moving your fingers mechanically on the instrument, but playing literally, having fun with the notes, rhythms and harmonies. During my years at the conservatory, as a child, I experienced this void of meaning that young students can feel in music theory classes. At the time I was a diligent student but quite mediocre in music theory. I simply didn't understand the method that was dictated to us in Musical Training class. This actually favors children with perfect pitch, and those who do not have it remain behind. What a pity ! But I was passionate and so I looked for other ways to develop my listening skills. I studied Indian music, I followed the teachings of American, German, Swiss teachers... And finally by practicing ancient music, I discovered ancient music theory. The latter is the one which provides the real bases from which all Western music arises. Counterpoint and harmony, everything became clearer to me. Calm and patient by nature, I would be delighted to help you or your child to appreciate music theory thanks to a personalized creative and playful approach.

Student offers violin, viola and music theory lessons.
Hello, I am currently studying at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Boulogne-Billancourt. I offer violin, viola and music theory lessons for students of all ages, and all levels (beginners or not). I can follow an already existing method, give "support" courses to a student already in a school or even follow my own method, which I developed during these 4 years of teaching. The lessons can take place at my home, at the student's home or even remotely (Skype or other). I obviously adapt to each student profile, these requests and desires. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Want to learn the cello? Lessons for all levels taught by a concert cellist!
My classes are open to both those who have never played an instrument and those who have a more advanced level, but who wish to improve. I adapt to the tastes and desires of each student, because everyone progresses at their own pace. The lessons are given with or without music theory, in a very pleasant and serious way. The objective of my lessons is to make the student, as quickly as possible, autonomous, so that he can play the repertoire he likes. For those who want to be professionals, I would be delighted to work with you very seriously and intensively, on a very stable basic technique and to find an artistic language specific to each one. -My method is focused on learning the work through an understanding of the text and the musical language specific to each composer. -I will also insist on essential points for a technique without tension. And a constant search for a beautiful sound.

Violin lessons, violin-viola and musical training (solfège)
VIOLIN LESSONS, VIOLIN-VIOLO and MUSICAL TRAINING (music theory) Hello ! Experienced teacher and confirmed musician, I hold the diploma of Intervening Musician and of the Conservatory of Music of Lille. I am particularly passionate about alternative pedagogies, oral music and I consider music teaching from the angle "music = pleasure". In parallel with my artistic and educational activity, I continue to train myself in particular in the Brazilian O Passo method by Lucas Ciavatta and in other instruments such as a guitar, which allows me to accompany the students. During my professional experience, I have worked in different employment settings and with different audiences: Music Conservatories, Private Lessons, Primary and Kindergarten Schools and, more recently, within the DEMOS project (Music Education Project with a social vocation) of the Philharmonie de Paris as a musician speaker but also a pedagogical referent. You want to learn music, take back an instrument left in the cupboard for too long or you need a little help to improve your skills, do not hesitate to call me or send me a message. I teach at my home and travel to the capital. Do not hesitate to contact me so that we can study together your expectations or if you need help for the acquisition of an instrument. The prices of my courses are decreasing according to the number of courses reserved. Musically, Anne

Cello Lessons at All Levels, Adapted to the Student's Needs
My teaching method is carefully tailored to the specific needs of each student, regardless of the subject we are working on (music theory, cello, music history, analysis, conducting, etc.). The pace of learning is always set by the student, ensuring that each lesson aligns realistically with their goals and interests. Whether you're looking for a more flexible, amateur approach — open to personal interests — or a more structured plan aimed at exams, auditions, or academic improvement, I design a personalized learning path for each case. My approach is rooted in a highly practical vision of learning, inspired by the educational model in which I was trained during my master’s degrees in Conducting (Antwerp) and Historical Cello (Brussels). I view teaching as a dynamic process, where deep understanding takes precedence over rote memorization.

Private guitar lessons for every level: from basic chords to out of the box improvisation
Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions and I will answer as soon as possible. See you soon! Richard PS: my specified hours are a guideline, if this does not suit you, you can certainly send us a message and we will try to arrange something :)

    John
Professional jazz musician teaching jazz, blues, funk, R&B, pop, rock, latin and classical piano.
I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard. My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student. Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you. A bit about me: Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. The video shown below is from my stint playing and directing 'After Midnight', a show set to the music of the Duke Ellington Big Band.

Cello lessons from Bach to jazz to improvisation
What is important to me in class? Students and teachers should meet at eye level. It's important to me to create an atmosphere in which both feel comfortable and no one feels forced to do anything. Where do I come from musically? It has always been important to me to exploit all the possibilities that my instrument can offer. To be honest, I'm not finished yet, the cello has so many facets to discover! I've tried many different styles. I am currently studying a master's degree in contemporary music at the Basel University of Music. I completed my bachelor's degree in education in Freiburg. This gives me a good basis for teaching the instrument in a playful way and for eliciting creativity from the students. Can you also find me on stage? Yes, mostly with my indie-pop band. We write our own songs, and I'm usually responsible for a good bassline :) But also with Percaso String Quartet, with whom we only play string quartet works by women. Or in Ensemble IPSO, a music theater project in which we try to blend the boundaries between music, theater and dance. And always with solo performances at vernissages. I have a solidarity pricing system, meaning you give me whatever you can around the stated amount. If this applies to you, feel free to write. Lessons at the student’s home and preferably in Riehen.
