Ciao, I am Desi Alessandrini and I’ve been teaching Italian as a foreign language since 1988. I was born in Trento, in northern Italy, and over the years I’ve lived in Brazil, Sardegna, and now in a small village in Abruzzo. I have a degree in Italian Language and Culture for Foreigners and I’m a certified Italian teacher (DILS-PG, University of Perugia).
I’m a patient and understanding teacher, and I love introducing students to Italy beyond the usual stereotypes.
With my Italiano + Arte and Italiano + Storia programs, you can learn Italian while taking a guided journey through Italian art history and/or history. Using images, maps, and videos, we’ll explore Italy’s most fascinating events and cultural heritage, while you naturally improve your Italian.

As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing.

Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing.
We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis.

Western Armenian is a language that has been put in the endangered language's list, and I personally believe that such a rich language should never die. I believe that I am taking a huge initiative to be one of the individuals who'll try to save this important language from disappearing.
I try to make my lessons as interacting as possible. The lessons and exercises will be provided through PowerPoint presentations. I try to listen to my student in order to prepare the lesson plan together, according to his needs and preferences.
