I teach English through social studies, literature, and science, turning every lesson into an exploration. Students work with materials from National Geographic Learning, National Geographic Kids, Oxford University Press, Wonders, The Magic School Bus, Smithsonian Science Education Center, Smithsonian Tween Tribune, BBC Earth, TIME for Kids, New York Times Learning Network, Newsela, Scientific American, and even NASA’s Education resources.

With 9 years of teaching experience, including 5 in top international schools in Shanghai, I help learners develop fluency, critical thinking, and cultural understanding. From playful phonics for beginners to Harry Potter novel studies and tailored exam preparation for IELTS, TOEFL, and Cambridge, my lessons connect English to the real world and make learning memorable.

Hi, I’m Suzanne. I’m not here to give you boring grammar drills or endless worksheets. I’ve spent nine years teaching English including five years in international schools in Shanghai and what I’ve learned is this: language is about ideas, stories, and real life.
My classes combine social studies, literature, and science because learning English should open doors not just fill in blanks. We’ll dive into everything from Harry Potter to National Geographic articles and you’ll actually use English to think, question, and express yourself confidently.

I’m all about making lessons personal and fun. No two students learn the same way so I adapt everything to fit you. Mistakes are just part of the process. I’m here to build your confidence and help you see English as a tool to explore the world not a chore to survive.

Bachelor’s degree in English Language Teaching. Completed a four-year program that combined language education with a strong foundation in literature, linguistics, communication skills, and educational theory. The degree included in-depth studies in sociolinguistics, academic writing, cross-cultural communication, and the use of authentic materials from social studies, science, and literature to enhance learning. During my studies, I participated in high school internships where I assisted in classrooms, supported extracurricular activities, and gained early insight into student engagement strategies. I also completed a teaching practicum in a bilingual school, applying methods such as project-based learning and content-integrated language instruction. This blend of academic study and hands-on experience prepared me to deliver lessons that are both academically rigorous and globally relevant.
