Hello ! My name is Marianne and I'm a young French teacher living in Portugal.

I haven't always taught French: I first worked for international organisations in several countries (Montenegro, Albania, Vietnam) and in several universities in France. There I acquired a taste for multicultural environments and for passing on my love of the French language and culture!

Aside from work, I sing in a choir (and at karaoke!), I do embroidery and yoga, and I love discovering the cuisines of other countries.

Education

I have a Master's Degree in International relations and a professionnal Diploma in Teaching French as a Second Language, specialising in French for Specific Purposes. This means that if you have a specific objective to achieve, I can easily adapt and tailor my course to your needs.

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.
