Looking to start writing your first screenplay, play, or something else of your liking? Want help with something you're currently writing? In this class, you'll learn how the structure of a story functions and improve upon any part of storytelling you want to get better at.

Practices in class include writing exercises, in-class proofreading, and delving into other pieces of work to see what makes them a good story.

Hello, my name's Alina! Originally a biology major, I switched to the arts (particularly writing) as I have a knack for story building and creativity that I've wanted to make clear for myself and others.

Though I've had experience working with others on projects, this is my first time teaching people about something I know, so despite being on the shyer side, I'm excited to see what's in store for this part of my life.

I'm accepting of all students and believe in the idea that the best class is one that is open to discussion, thought, and critique. Since I'm quite tech-savvy, I'm almost always available to answer student responses, and want to provide them with the most and highest-quality information I can give them.

Outside of writing, I like to work on films, listen/play music, do art, read comics, cook, go to the gym, explore new places, and go out stargazing when I can.

Sophomore at Drexel University studying for a B.S. in Screenwriting & Playwriting with a minor in Film & TV Production. Total GPA is a 3.5, but my previous term was a 3.6.

Erfahrung / Qualifikationen

In the past, I've developed my own story for a summer Honors program and collaborated with the program director for my major on his own historical script about atomic Las Vegas at the start of the Cold War. I've also written my own scripts and plays throughout the course of a year now, and planning to develop two scripts into a play and a short film this winter quarter!

Would you like to approach the creative writing of music?
Would you like to fully understand the languages and the way music works?

Like any form of creative expression, music has its rules, rooted in perception and in the context around us.

We will be able to work on fundamental concepts of musical expression, valid in all genres and also delve into the area that interests you the most (baroque, classical, pop, jazz...)

My course has a non-academic approach and it is open to all: whether you are professionals who want to deepen their musical knowledge, or you are amateurs or beginners we can build the perfect course for you and that will allow you to express yourself or simply to better understand the music you are listening to.

The only thing I highly recommend is knowing how to read music, because it allows us to go much faster. If you are not able, we can start there.

I teach Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro from beginner to advanced.

In the beginner and intermediate courses, all the important basics are covered and practiced using practical applications.

The advanced courses go into finer details, such as advanced editing techniques or shed light on specific processes such as proxy workflows or colour management.

Structure:

The technical lessons are structured in 1 hour modules, using practical examples and allow time for experimentation and questions.

I also teach editing theory and creative strategies across many different genres and styles. These are less structured and are tailored to specific needs.

Open Sessions are also possible, where you may bring along a personal project and I will offer you technical assistance, feedback or tips.

Writing is a complex process, be it writing a novel, poetry, an essay or even a diary. I write since my 8 years and I have since developed a writing program (via mediation and automatic writing) which allowed me to write essays on art and write many short stories, including some have been published in school newspapers. This course is intended for all interested and aims to choose a different angle to solve white page syndrome. Together we can learn what are the best tools for you to express your creativity.

TEXTUAL ANALYSIS IS A VERY POWERFUL METHOD TO UNDERSTAND, LITERATURE, CREATE A CHARACTER OR DEVELOP A THEATRE OR CINEMA PRODUCTION.
YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO APPROACH A FICTIONAL OR NON-FICTIONAL TEXT AND MAKE IT LIVE ON STAGE OR SCREEN, ALSO - YOU WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENT POSSIBLE LAYERS OF THE TEXT AND APPLY IT YO YOUR CREATIVE WRITING.

I offer an approach to writing that goes beyond the basic technical details. This is because when it comes to writing, I believe the personal is the most important. By talking to you about your experience of writing, I will help you realize your project to its fullest creative potential. Questions about your project will include: How do you plan it? What goes through your head when you sit down to start? What role does re-reading and editing play in your writing process? Opening up this space for exploration will allow you to then insert the appropriate technical details. In addition, if English is a foreign language, my ESL-teaching background should let us find the right language solutions when necessary.

I'm a graduate student of clinical psychology, have studied and tutored at multiple international universities, while on the other hand working with small editing and publication groups in NYC and Berlin, as well as recently putting out my own book of poems.

I can give you topics and writing prompts to help you get started, introduce you to different forms and genres, help you edit your work, and recommend contests and places to submit your work for publication. Writers of any experience level in need of encouragement and support are welcome.

Creative writing is rarely a subject offered in schools, but for those who have a great imagination and want to share it with others, this is the place to be! Because it requires more than just the desire to write, a laptop and knowledge of grammar and punctuation; Creating characters, creating worlds, building the story, choosing the narrative perspective and developing the writing style are also part of the process. Everything from descriptions and writing dialogue to the meaning of plot is discussed in class and who knows? Perhaps at the end of our lessons, students can expect a work that is just steps away from publication. ;)

French is a rich but sometimes complex language where the rules and exceptions can quickly lose us.

In this course we will see the basics of grammar and conjugation according to your needs. In addition, we will approach writing and develop your creativity to maximize your progress while moving away from classic exercises.

Whether you have homework to do, or want to work or speak in fluent English, I will provide you with everything you need. We can have calm conversations, or do more intensive classes which cover grammar, vocabulary and phrases that make you sound native!
