I specialized in contemporary music composition in Bucharest, Birmingham and Paris having finished with honors my Bachelor, my Master and my Doctorate degree in this field. I also have a pedagogical degree and 2 years of experience in which I taught music composition, musical forms, poliphony, orchestration, music theory and solfege at the National University of Music from Bucharest. In 2022 I finished a 2nd Master's Degree in Film Music Composition at the ZHdK.

This class is for both beginners who want to compose music as a hobby and to aspiring professional composers. The main topic of my doctoral thesis was the compositional idea and the processes involved in the creative undertakings. How does one reach the final stage of a composition from just a few ideas? How can we improve this endeavour? What strategies and techniques are needed in order to do that?

The class will be customized for each student so in order to achieve a certain objective in music composition the lessons can include elements of music theory, harmony, poliphony, orchestration, improvisation, music notation (Finale & Dorico) and music production (StudioOne).

Although solfege and improvisation are extremely useful (I dare say even indispensable) for a professional composer, they can also be means to an end for passionate music lovers. Solfege and strategies that come with it can help your singing and music sight reading. And improvisation is such a fun and relaxing activity that I think everybody should do it!

Acerca de mí
Sebastian (b. 1989) is a multi-award-winning composer who writes both contemporary concert music and soundtracks for theater, film and video games.

He studied music composition in Romania, Great Britain, and France, his music being performed all around the world by established ensembles and orchestras. He finished his Ph.D. in 2018 at the National University of Music from Bucharest, having Dan Dediu as his doctoral advisor and long-time mentor.

Obtaining two Erasmus scholarships, he studied composition with Stefano Gervasoni during his doctoral studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse and with Joe Cutler, Howard Skempton and Ed Bennett during his Masters at the Birmingham Conservatoire. He is now doing a 2nd Master in Zürich at the
Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) in Music Composition for Film, Theatre, and Media.

He won over 30 prizes and awards in music composition among which there is the „Golden Eye” trophy offered by Zurich Film Festival (2018) and the „George Enescu Grand Prix” (2014).

Convinced of the idea that there is always room for improvement, Sebastian attended in numerous masterclasses lead by important composers such as Mark-Anthony Turnage, Isabel Mundry, Agustín Fernández, Brian Ferneyhough, Richard Ayres, Christopher Fox, Mario Garuti, Laurence Crane, Hanna Kulenty, Errollyn Wallen, Gavin Bryars, Thierry Huillet, Cornel Taranu, Michael Hersch, Gabriel Iranyi, Jörg Widmann, Peter Ruzicka, Adrian Pop, Bernard Cavanna, Miklós Maros, Zygmunt Krauze, Hubert Stuppner, Philip Cashian, and Aurel Stroe.

In 2018 he obtained a position of professor at the National University of Music from Bucharest teaching music composition, orchestration, musical forms, and solfege. In 2022 he finished a 2nd Masters in Music Composition for Film, Theatre, and Media in Zurich at the ZHdK. Have you always wanted to play the flute? Or...have you always wanted to have a hobby that improves the quality of your life? Learning a musical instrument not only sustains and feeds the brain, but it also improves so many other cognitive and physical aspects of the human body.
It's been widely studied and proven that learning a musical instrument improves memory, relieves stress, teaches you how to use both hemispheres, gives you a sense of achievement and...it's a lot of fun!

Have you always wanted to learn the flute? Or...are you looking for a hobby that can improve your life? But there are also other, scientifically proven, positive effects for music lessons: Learning and playing an instrument promotes intellectual development, trains fine motor skills, awakens creative and emotional potential and conveys important fundamental aspects for successful and happy learning!
But the most important thing is...it's really fun!!

Currently, I am concertmaster in the Málaga Camerata Orchestra, and I actively participate in the OFMAN. I have actively participated in the JOBA, Orbis Symphony Orchestra Sinfosol, JOPMA, Jonomur orchestras. Also a member of the ORBIS quartet.

As for my experience: I am a violin teacher at ElCamm, and I have been giving private lessons for more than 5 years.

I finished my studies at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Malaga, with Lorenzo Triviño.

The classes are carried out with my own method based on the technique of Galamian and Simon Fischer, as well as the teachings of the great teachers with whom I have worked and my learning experience teaching a great diversity of students, with which I seek the flexibility to adapt to the student.

Dear students,
My name is Giacomo and I hold two Master of Arts in Music Performance, one in Rome and one from the "Zurcher Hochschule der Kunste" in Zurich.
During my class lessons you'll learn the wonderful art of playing the violin, an incredible instrument! I have many years of experience with teaching, I do private lessons and I have worked as a teacher for "Tiziano Rossetti International Music Academy in Lugano" for several years. As a teacher my goal is to bring out the best version of my students, using their individual strenghts, which are different for each of them. It's a pleasure for me to teach to anybody who wants even just to discover the art of playing the violin. As a pedagogue, after one month experience in a meditation retreat in Thailand, my approach involves not only focusing on the technical development of the instrument but also paying close attention to the physical and mental well-being of my students. I incorporate meditation and yoga as key elements to ensure a pleasant and optimal experience with the instrument and with oneself.
