Hello everyone! :)
I am offering music lessons in saxophone, improvisation/jazz music, music theory, ear training, basic piano or voice training for all ages and levels!

If you are just starting to play the instrument, I can teach you:
- Producing a beautiful sound
- Improving your technique of the instrument

If you are interested in jazz/improvisation lessons, I can teach you:
- Playing on jazz tunes using jazz harmony knowledge
- Music of the jazz repertoire

If you want to improve your music theory knowledge:
- I can offer lessons in ear training/ harmony/ solfege/ composition
- Prepare you for entrance exams

I also offer lessons in basic piano and voice training for beginners. Any combination of the lessons is also a possibility! :)

Lessons are very personalised and focused on the quality, pace and needs of every of the students.
For me it is important to create a welcoming and friendly space where you can express anything regarding your musical progress.

About me:
I am a saxophonist, composer, vocalist from Latvia, based in Groningen.
Graduated from Prince Claus Conservatorium in 2025, jazz bachelor saxophone. Apart from the saxophone I have studied jazz and classical music theory, as well as singing and piano.

About Me

I am a saxophonist, composer, vocalist from Latvia, based in Groningen, The Netherlands.
Graduated from Prince Claus Conservatorium in 2025, jazz bachelor - saxophone.
I am composing music and leading my own musical project, as well as playing in different bigger orchestras and ensembles (Jong Metropole 2025).
I am a new teacher, eager to connect with students and provide lessons that fit their personal needs and wishes. I like to organise lessons that are a good balance of a structure and freedom.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Jazz Music - saxophone (Prince Clause Conservatorium).
Apart from the saxophone I have studied jazz and classical music theory, as well as singing (solo, ensemble and choir) and piano.

I am a new teacher - I have been teaching privately for 2 years. I have experience teaching 1-on-1 lessons as well as ensemble lessons.
I have studied music myself since age 6. Through my musical studies I have observed different teaching methods in many specialisations and I am excited to share my knowledge with students.

Hello fellow musician!
Have you ever dreamed of becoming a saxophone player?
Wheter you are trying to become a jazz improviser, or you have just started familiarizing with the instrument, I can teach you how to:

- be able to produce a beutiful sound;
- use music theory as a practical way to play correctly over changes;
- maximize the outcome of your practice-time;
- master the technique on your horn.

As a student, I often found myself struggling with resolving a particular set of problems. I was constantly confronted with higher-levelled players, wondering whether I would ever become able to express myself as they did through their music. Having been studying jazz for many years, I experimented with a lot of different learning methods, only to find out that music improvisation is something that is mainly acquired in very personal, differentiated ways. One of the most interesting things I experienced as an educator, when encountering students who shared my own past insecurities, doubts, questions, and struggles, was getting to understand a part of the person in front of me; and to find new ways to help grasp and internalize a theoretical or technical concept that could then enable them to formulate a more coherent musical idea. Even if every student is a unique individual, thus responding to different educational methods, I think that, over time, I was able to identify a red line around which I could create a method that can be beneficial to the majority of aspirational players.

For the past few years, I have been giving private instrument lessons to jazz players with varied backgrounds and experience.
My educative career consists of a traditional classical, MA in classical saxophone (Conservatorio G. B. Martini, Bologna), a BA in jazz saxophone (ibid.), and a BA in jazz saxophone called New York Jazz Bachelor at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen, where I am now attending a Jazz Master program.

I think of myself as social musician. I mostly like to play sharing music with others. My first priority goes to having an interesting/charming/ resonant full sound. Then i work on how to connect your ears to your instrument so that you can play as simple as possible in a way that you can hear it before you are getting to play it on saxophone. We can also work on repertoire based on taste in music of your choice. If we choose some music that you like before actually studying it, this is a strong motivation for the student to go for it ! I am mostly an alto and tenor player but i can teach to any other kind of saxophone like baritone, soprano etc. My sound , technique and lessons are mostly coming from jazz music(blues ,swing , mostly American music of 20s-60s)
I assign homework after every lesson about the technique of the saxophone but also the possible tools of improvisation in music.

I am a second year Master student at the jazz department of the Prins Claus conservatoire. I am a bass player and a composer, who performed in over 10 countries with different projects as a leader and a sideman.

I offer lessons of piano playing to any person that wants to start with the instrument or want to improve their skills. i have worked with kids and adults. My formation is from classic piano, being that my main activity of study. I have played different styles aswell, from jazz to neo soul, and I also enjoy playing piano through midi and produce music. Lately I have been creating lo fi piano music so I think I can offer a wide range of different styles. I like to work listening the demands of my students, and not imposing repertory that doesn't come from the desire of the student, although I can offer some guidelines in order to make the progress of the student more organize and consistent.

When teaching viola, my main goal is to make sure the student has fun and I try to cater as much as possible to their wants and needs. I incorporate music theory and history into the lessons to create a thorough understanding of the music. I am specified in classical music, but am open to experimenting with the student in other genres.

The sources of my lessons come from the experience and knowledge I've gained not only from my music education - which consists of two instruments, two bachelor's degrees, and a master's degree -but also from being "out there" in the scene as a professional musician, from playing pit gigs, recording in the studios, touring as a band, being on festival stages, etc.

Apart from being in the scene, teaching music to people of various demographics has offered me the opportunity to strengthen the curriculum and the ability to deliver the material in a receiver-friendly way.
