I have many years of professional experience, master's degrees in both instruments, as well as in musicology. I focus on both musical and technical aspects of organ and piano playing and work with students of all levels and ages: from beginners to conservatoires. I find piano lessons very important because they stimulate our brains and develop our coordination. Playing the piano is also challenging, as you have to pay attention to many things and have a lot of patience. For me, teaching is a collaboration in which student and teacher achieve a common goal. With motivation, patience, and an individualized approach, I want to accompany my students on their musical journey.

The lesson lasts 45 minutes and is completely customized to your needs and preferences. We can work on your technique and musicality or just learn how to play your favorite songs so you can show off to your friends ;) I think I am a really patient person and I believe that with hard work, anyone can achieve anything! The lessons are optimized for everyone: from beginners to experienced piano players.

I am a cellist, composer and pianist from Chicago currently residing in Graz, Austria! I received my Bachelors in Cello and Composition in the USA from Indiana University and am currently pursuing my masters in Cello Konzertfach at Kunst Universität Graz. I have years of experience working as a private cello, piano and composition teacher. I am used teaching all levels, and have certification to teach string students as young as six years old from Indiana University's String Academy Program. In addition to teaching instrumental and composition lessons privately, I also have experience teaching music theory and aural skills as a graduate teaching assistant. I adjust my teaching based on what you or your child would like to learn. From helping you learn to play a Bach cello suite, to Bohemian Rhapsody on piano, or get feedback and mentorship on your own compositions, I would be happy to play a part in your musical journey! :)

Among them many who now publish regularly, such as Holger Rohmann, Robert Getzner and Mila Chiral. I try to place special emphasis on musical approaches in my lessons. How do I start, how do I turn my first idea into a whole track and how do I deal with form, harmony, melody and of course rhythm; are all questions that are dealt with in my classes. Genre doesn't matter too much as my classes are more about composing electronic music in general. In contrast to the usual workshops, the individual lessons allow me to respond very precisely to individual needs and interests.

These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. I will be assigning some homework after every lesson, likely a combination of vocalization exercises, dedicated sheet music practice, and theory homework (if needed). *My first lesson will involve getting to know the student, their goals, and some vocalization to assess vocal level. For singers with minimal/no prior foundational music theory knowledge, I may recommend time from lessons (15-30 minutes) being allocated solely towards foundational music theory learning.

Are you stuck? I can help! In our composition lessons, we’ll both learn how to get more from basic elements, like pitch and rhythm, and also the things we can do to help make a composition more poetic. We can work on how to get more music from fewer ideas to create a consistent musical language, and also explore the idea of opposites in your compositions, blending and smearing contrasting elements to add depth and complexity to your work. Through the analysis of great music, the composition of miniatures, and feedback on your current projects, you’ll both increase your technical fluency and simultaneously learn to love and develop your unique voice.
