Trusted teacher: Lesson: Electrochemistry Duration: 60 minutes Grade Level: Advanced Science / Chemistry (IGCSE, A Level, IB) Main Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students should be able to: 1. Define electrochemistry and explain its importance. 2. Describe the difference between electrolytic and galvanic (voltaic) cells. 3. Write half-reactions and overall cell reactions. 4. Calculate standard electrode potentials and predict the direction of electron flow. 5. Understand practical applications of electrochemistry in everyday life. Lesson Outline / Brief Notes: 1. Introduction to Electrochemistry (10 minutes) Definition: Electrochemistry is the branch of chemistry that deals with the relationship between chemical reactions and electricity. Key Concept: Redox reactions involve the transfer of electrons. Real-life example: Batteries, electroplating, corrosion prevention. 2. Galvanic (Voltaic) Cells (15 minutes) Composed of two half-cells connected by a salt bridge. Oxidation occurs at the anode, reduction at the cathode. Example: Daniell cell Zn(s) | Zn2+(aq) || Cu2+(aq) | Cu(s) Oxidation: Zn → Zn2+ + 2e− Reduction: Cu2+ + 2e− → Cu 3. Electrolytic Cells (10 minutes) Require an external power source to drive non-spontaneous reactions. Example: Electrolysis of molten NaCl At cathode: Na+ + e− → Na At anode: 2Cl− → Cl2 + 2e- 4. Standard Electrode Potentials (10 minutes) Electrode potential measures the tendency of a species to be reduced. Example: Zn2+/Zn: -0.76 V Cu2+/Cu: +0.34 V Predict electron flow: Electrons flow from Zn to Cu in a Daniell cell. 5. Applications of Electrochemistry (5 minutes) Batteries (Li-ion, lead-acid) Electroplating (silver plating, chromium plating) Corrosion protection (galvanization) Exercise (10 minutes) 1. Short Answer Questions: a. Define electrochemistry. b. Identify the anode and cathode in a zinc-copper galvanic cell. c. Explain the difference between galvanic and electrolytic cells. 2. Calculation: Given: Zn2+/Zn: -0.76 V Cu2+/Cu: +0.34 V Calculate the standard cell potential of a Daniell cell. 3. Application Question: Describe one practical application of electrochemistry in everyday life and explain how it works.

Trusted teacher: 1. What is the TOEIC? The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) is a language test developed by the Educational Testing Service (Princeton, USA). It measures/demonstrates the language skills that everyone in today's multinational work environment needs to communicate successfully in a foreign language. 2. Who uses the TOEIC? The TOEIC test is one of the most widely used English-language tests in the world, with more than 14,000 organizations and universities in more than 160 countries relying on TOEIC scores to make important decisions. 3. What is the TOEIC used for? The TOEIC is used to help organisations to: • Select, hire, and/or promote their employees based on their level of English • Select employees with adequate English language skills to participate in English language programs or training. • Standardize the level of English language proficiency within the company. Universities and other higher education institutions use this test to: • Accept prospective students into their English-speaking undergraduate and graduate programs • Measure their students’ progress • Issue an internationally recognized English language certificate to their students. 4. How can I help you? • I will evaluate your English proficiency level • I will introduce you to the format and structure of the test: remember, knowing the type of tasks is half the battle! • I will provide you with a lot of exercises and materials, and we will practice a lot • Depending on your needs, we can focus on the Listening and Reading Test, the Speaking and Writing Tests, or both • During the preparation, if you get to an area that is going harder, then we will do more exercises related to it or them (grammar, pronunciation, listening comprehension).

Trusted teacher: 🧪 IB Chemistry Apprentice Lesson Plan Topic: The Electromagnetic Spectrum Level: IB Year 1 (Apprentice) Duration: 60 minutes Lesson Objectives By the end of this lesson, students should be able to: ‣ Describe the electromagnetic spectrum and identify its different regions. ‣ Understand and apply the equation c = fλ. ‣ Differentiate between a continuous spectrum and a line spectrum. ‣ Explain the concept of quantized energy in atoms. Lesson Outline Introduction (0–5 minutes) Start the lesson by asking students a few engaging questions: What are some examples of invisible light or radiation around us? Why do we wear sunscreen? Allow brief responses, then explain that all of these examples are part of the electromagnetic spectrum, which we will study today. Teaching Phase 1 – Overview of the Electromagnetic Spectrum (5–15 minutes) Introduce the electromagnetic spectrum. Explain that it is a range of all electromagnetic waves, which vary by frequency and wavelength. Emphasize that all electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed in a vacuum – the speed of light, c = 3.00 × 108 m/s. Key formula to introduce: c = fλ, where: c = speed of light f = frequency (Hz) λ = wavelength (m) Point out that high-frequency waves have short wavelengths and higher energy (like gamma rays), while low-frequency waves have long wavelengths and lower energy (like radio waves). Display a spectrum diagram showing the range from radio to gamma rays, with visible light in the center. Teaching Phase 2 – Spectrum Types: Continuous vs. Line Spectrum (15–25 minutes) Explain the difference between continuous and line spectra. A continuous spectrum** contains all wavelengths in a range, like a rainbow produced when white light passes through a prism. A line spectrum** shows only specific wavelengths or frequencies. This happens when excited electrons fall back to lower energy levels and release photons of specific energies. Explain that energy is **quantized**—electrons cannot have just any amount of energy; only specific values are allowed. Use the helium line spectrum image as an example. Real-World Examples and Class Discussion (35–45 minutes) Give students three practical examples and discuss their uses: 1. Microwaves – Used in cooking and communications. 2. Ultraviolet (UV) rays – Cause sunburn; used in sterilizing equipment. 3. Gamma rays– Used in cancer treatment and in detecting radioactive materials. Ask students: Where do you see or use electromagnetic waves in your daily life? Encourage short contributions to reinforce understanding. Student Exercises (45–55 minutes) Have students complete these three questions individually: 1. A wave has a frequency of 6.0 × 1014 Hz. Calculate its wavelength using c = 3.00 × 108 m/s. 2. Explain the difference between a continuous and line spectrum, with an example of each. 3. Why are gamma rays more dangerous to humans than radio waves? Wrap-Up and Recap (55–60 minutes) Call on a few students to briefly summarize one key thing they learned.

'' be able to live in community. After a suitable accompaniment, a hypersensitive can learn to tame his innate capacities and to create harmony in his own existence. What happens during a session ? After having defined together one or more global objectives based on your initial problem, each session takes place in two stages. 1) Browse, analyze & dissect together the reflections, thoughts and notes taken during the week and related to your emotions: actions taken based on the suggestions of the previous week; thoughts; feelings: what worked or not / corresponded or not to your expectations. It is also an opportunity to get to know you better in order to better define / define / identify and then solve together the challenges / emotional blockages of the moment. 2) Based on the conclusions of the first part, a proposal of two to three sub-issues of the day to be dealt with during the session (sub-issues built from your initial issue): to answer them, for each of them 'between them, a series of ten to fifteen pragmatic reflections / actions will be proposed to you. Three possible answers: - "I have already tried this solution but it does not suit me" or "I do not really believe it": we go to the next suggestion - “Never tried” or “why not”, “I'll think about it”: we set ourselves the goal of trying as soon as the opportunity arises, by the next session Concretely, a session = a reflection but above all A SESSION = SOLUTIONS / proposals / concrete suggestions to put into practice for the following session in order to overcome its blockages. According to the defined objective, it is a question of identifying & resolving the impact of emotions and their bad channeling not only on his communication but especially on his daily life. Mounir

rating green star
Mounir has been tutoring my daughter for a few months (French syllabus, 3eme - Brevet level). She loves the lessons and looks forward to their weekly Zoom meeting. Mounir easily builds a good rapport with his students and makes lessons interesting and fun, building confidence along the way. He is methodical and organised in his approach and makes sure to go over any aspects of the lessons which may have been less well covered in class, leaving the student with a solid grasp of the entire syllabus. He also recommended alternative revision cards and exercise books with corrections which my daughter finds much more user friendly than the ones provided at her school. Overall a very satisfactory experience and we would recommend Mounir without hesitation to anyone looking for an excellent maths tutor.

First, she is an excellent musician. Second she is a patient, and an understanding teacher, who by nature is going to try to do her best to help you out. You feel confident with her and you know you are not going to be humiliated and belittled. She is there to support you. After two years of learning music with Pr Yantong Lin, I can hardly imagine how much she "enriched my life". She made me discover the beauty and subtlety of the music. She made me think musically and not just play notes, and made me discover the "intellectual fondation and beauty of music" that is harmony. A new undiscovered world has been opened wide in front of me! Thank you Pr Yantong for your musical and teaching talents. Professeur à absolument découvrir et suivre!

Ester

My private violin lesson with Ester was absolutely perfect. I had a privilege to hear Ester play her violin and she is so good- it is crazy to think I was able to learn from her. She is also such a good teacher. Full of knowlege and patience- which is, in my opinion, a rare combination. I had no prior musical education and this was my first real music lesson. Ester managed to teach me basic note reading, correct violin holding and even playing my first tunes. Her explainations are very clear and easy to understand. And her approach is very friendly. She is also a very nice person and easy to talk to. I wish we lived in the same city so I could keep studying playing violin with Ester- that's how good she is. Lidia
