I have been playing Classical Guitar for 14 years. I have always practiced the greatest repertoire from Ancient Music (Dowland, Sanz, Bach), Modern and Contemporary (Paganini, Tarrega, Villa-Lobos, Brouwer) while experimenting other genres (Blues, Rock, Ragtime, Progressive, Pop) and composing music myself.
My goal is to valorise an activity that is both methodical and rigorous as well as creative and entertaining as Music itself.

About Me

I am Italian, I am 27 years old and I am working in Utrecht. I got my Bachelor and Master Degree in Philosophy of Science and Logic in Genova and Florence, spending some months in Munich as well.
Art and Culture are my main interests: I am very passionate about Philosophy of Ecology and Critical Thinking about Ecological issues, beside being a "full-time" reader and writer.
Also, I love playing and composing on my classical guitar, which I've been playing for 14 years now.
Nature and conviviality are my inspiration and my end point!

My name is Panagiotis and I am a guitar teacher/player. I have two bachelor degrees: Classical Guitar (Philippos Nakas Conservatory), Jazz&Pop Guitar (HKU Utrecht Conservatory). I have been teaching in music schools and giving individual lessons for the last 14 years. In 2017 I moved to Utrecht to continue my studies in jazz guitar at the Utrecht Conservatory and explore the Dutch music scene.I teach electric, acoustic, classical guitar and music theory. Besides the basic technique and theory knowledge, which Ι make sure to provide to each of my students , I individually prepare their study line, according to their taste and abilities. I am a Canadian classical guitarist and guitar instructor offering lessons in either English or Dutch. I am primarily educated and professionally active in classical guitar, but I teach in a variety of styles and genres. Every student has different goals, backgrounds, and abilities, so I teach each student with a custom-made approach. The way I teach actually depends entirely on the student. The way I explain the concepts, plan and structure the lessons and approach each subject all depends on whether the student is a beginner, intermediate or advanced, and whether he or she has some experience on the subject.

Each student has different needs and different abilities. It's just a matter of getting to know the student, in order to identify both the weaknesses and strengths on which to work.

I myself have played in several bands and also been a part of a band that has opened for famous artists such as God is am astronaut, karnivool, etc.

I have a simple funda: practice! Playing the guitar is a physical skill, I aim to give you enough practice to master this. The practice doesnt have to be boring! Every class you learn a little but of theory and a song to compensate for the theory ;) (except for the first class where you aren't allowed to touch the guitar).

I personalize the class plan per student based on their learning needs. Minimum ‘boring’ theory if you know you're a hobbyist! And lots of theory for the nerdy music lovers!

I want to base my lessons on playing the guitar and related instruments in a way that feels mastered and personal.

I therefore want to focus on expression, technique and the aurally malleable nature of the instrument, for example by discussing extended techniques and the use of effect pedals. I want to invite the students to learn to listen carefully to the impact of different playing techniques and audio effects.

During the lessons I want to cover different kinds of music theory, especially in an "applied" way that is valuable to the student. I also want to deal with recording and producing my own work.

Owning your own effects pedals, a guitar amplifier or recording equipment is not required for this course.

I currently study guitar at the Utrecht Conservatorium, specialised in electric guitar.   I am competent to teach basic guitar skills to beginners. I have experience in both teaching kids and adults. I speak Russian and English languages fluently, can give basic instructions in Greek too.

My lessons are adapted to the interests of the students and their necessities, using more didactic methodologies with the kids. I encourage healthy relationships with the instrument and music, I will help to establish efficient practice routine.

Hello there! My name is Vasilis and I am a jazz/rock/eastern traditional and classical guitar player, singer and songwriter currently studying as a 3rd year student in the Jazz and Pop guitar department of HKU conservatory. I am coming from Greece where I graduated from my first bachelor on classical guitar and the last three years I live, study, work and play in Utrecht.

My teaching career started very early, 12 years ago when my classical guitar teacher let me teach my first student and since then I have worked in multiple music schools and in private lessons with students of every age. This year I also started giving my first band coaching group lessons.

In my lessons I try to create a learning path that is formed arround the interests and taste of each student. Since I am a singer and songwriter the lessons can also focus on the creating part of music if of course the student is interested in that. I work with empathy and sensitivity arround the needs of each student.

As for my playing career, I play with multiple bands on original songs of mine or covers in different venues and festivals in Europe. The genres differ between pop, jazz, rock, eastern traditional and blues so I can give a big variety of stylistic directions to each student.

Last but not least, I am also a singer and because of my good performance in school, I was awarded from the HKU Conservatory the oportunity to follow the vocal curriculum of the school as well. So I can help you with singing too!
