Trained in the principles of the atelier method, Neal emphasizes drawing as the foundation of painting, the careful study of light and form, and a disciplined approach to composition and color. Each painting reflects a commitment to truth — not only the visible truth of nature, but the quieter, inner truth that emerges through patient work and honest seeing.
As a teacher, Neal is known for his clear, structured instruction and an encouraging, attentive manner. He guides students to build confidence in their technique while cultivating sensitivity, intention, and personal vision.
