Music theory is a tool how to open the door to the next level musical skills on your instrument. I can teach basic and advance music theory mostly based on jazz, blues and pop music, and explain how theory and practical knowledge of music walk hand in hand.

In the lessons, we will be focusing on setting or developing all the required skills for the students to be able to perform independently, understand the musical language, and explore their own sound. Focusing on posture, hand coordination, rhythm, ear training, reading scores, and improvisation. So far my musical exposure in many different genres allows me to create a lesson that is adapted to the specific needs of my students. I have garnered the patience and belief in the idea that anyone can become a part of the music world with the proper amount of attention and guidance.

My name is Enrica and I am a professional Italian violinist graduated from the Conservatory of Bologna with the highest marks. My lessons are usually both practical and theoretical, so that you can improve your knowledge of music as well as your instrumental skills. Individual lessons based on the needs of each student, using a mix of classic and innovative teaching methods. Lessons are one hour, 45 minutes or 30 minutes each, but can be adapted as required. My work experience allows me to structure lessons for children aged 5 and up and for people of all ages. I'm a critically acclaimed pianist from Denmark, with studies from The Royal Danish Academy of Music, Copenhagen and Rimsky Korsakov Conservatory, St Petersburg, now working with professor Igor Roma at the Maastricht Conservatorium. I have received prizes in national and international competitions, and received funding from bigger Danish foundations. I’m a guitarist and guitar teacher, in Maastricht and I would like to present you my guitar lessons, also with music theory included and sessions of music for children and families. Since childhood, I have been passionate about music, singing, and dancing along to performances on television. My musical journey began in 2001 when I started training as a pianist. In 2017, I was awarded a full scholarship to study for a Diploma in Music at SEGi College Subang Jaya, Malaysia, where I expanded my skills in classical singing and violin. I later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Studies with First Class Honours from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, accredited by Trinity College Dublin, followed by a Master’s degree in Opera and Music Performance from the Conservatorium Maastricht, graduating with cum laude. With 17 years of teaching experience, I have guided students of all levels—from beginners to aspiring professionals. Some of my students have been accepted into prestigious music colleges with full scholarships, while others have passed their piano and singing exams with distinction. I understand that not every student enjoys music lessons at first, and I take the time to communicate with both students and parents to find the best approach for each individual. My goal is to create a positive, engaging learning environment where students not only improve their musical skills but also develop confidence, creativity, and a love for music. Beyond teaching and performing, I am a strong believer in overall well-being—I'm a yoga and Pilates enthusiast, a lover of good food, and an avid traveler. These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. I will be assigning some homework after every lesson, likely a combination of vocalization exercises, dedicated sheet music practice, and theory homework (if needed). *My first lesson will involve getting to know the student, their goals, and some vocalization to assess vocal level. For singers with minimal/no prior foundational music theory knowledge, I may recommend time from lessons (15-30 minutes) being allocated solely towards foundational music theory learning.

Western music theory is a great tool for musicians, songwriters, and composers. As a musician, western music theory will help you communicate with other musicians. As a songwriter, western music theory will help you write songs. As a composer, western music theory will help you compose pieces. In this class, you will decide what you want to learn, and I will give you lessons and homework based on that, your skill level, and your preferred genre group (western classical or contemporary).

Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run.
