Also I can teach some solfege and basic method of singing.
My lessons are not too strict, full of enjoying music and having fun.

Young Pianist from Maldegem. This year he is completing his second master's degree at the Royal Conservatory in Mons.

teaching is my number one priority! I would like to contribute to the fun and the ultimate ease of play for the little ones, people who are preparing to go to a conservatory and the motivated amateur.

Aaron born in Ghent on May 3, 1996. At the age of 8 he started at the music academy in Gentbrugge with solfège and piano with Mrs. Katrien Mazijn and private lessons with Mrs. Flora Vanmarcke. At the age of 14 he started at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven with the first instrument piano with Mrs. Alicia Mennes and the second instrument organ with Mr. Bart Naessens. He graduated from Lemmens as a laureate for piano and organ. During his art studies at Lemmens he followed master classes with Messrs Jan Vermeulen, Alessandro Cervino and Daniel Blumenthal. During the Easter holidays of the 2015-2014 school year, he followed 10 days of masterclasses at the Antwerp Conservatory with both Nicolaas and Levente Kende. During the summer holidays, a 10-day masterclass took place at the Theodor Leschetizky Institute in Vienna with Timur Sergeyenia. After that he went to Germany to take lessons for 8 days in Görlitz with Nicolaas Kende and he performed at the classical festival in Zgorzelec / Görlitz. At the end of August, he followed masterclasses with Hans Ryckelynck for another week. It is with Hans Ryckelynck that he now continues to study piano at the Conservatoire Royale de Mons. At this conservatory he also followed a masterclass with Burkhard Spinnler in 2016.

He now regularly performs as a soloist and together with other musicians. He has given a piano recital in Leuven, Ghent, Maldegem, Brussels, Mons, Hasselt and Antwerp. Also in Germany, Poland and Austria.

With more than 20 years of professional trainning from Conservatories around the world, I am here to help you to bring out the best pianist of you.

According to each student with a specific range of age (Children, Teenager, Adult,...) / level or skill of yours on playing piano, I will build up a studying program based on your own abilities of studying and make sure that we progressing on that. I mostly work on classical music and pop music, but no hesitate if you have your own choices and preferences.

Experience has taught me that it is very important to build a warm, trusting relationship with students, especially the very young ones. Bringing laughter, a sense of humour, games, and creating imaginative stories with music are my motives throughout the lesson.

The goals and character of each student guides the teaching approach I adopt - some students enjoy learning for the joy of music, whilst others prefer to aim for recognised qualifications or grades. In both cases I aim to make learning enjoyable.

I always encourage all my students, of whatever age or ability, to do some simple improvisation, and have developed several ways to facilitate this. I emphasise developing technique and music theory as they make the foundation of becoming a good musician throughout life.

Lessons for all ages. Harp, piano, music theory.

I graduated from the KMC Gent and have a career/experience of more than 40 years.
I also followed yoga, mindfulness and kinesiology courses.
The combination of playing an instrument with mindfulness opens up many possibilities.

During the lessons for harp or piano you learn the necessary technique, and musicality is taken into account.
The better the technical skill, the more fluidly the musicality can unfold.
No previous knowledge of ear training is required for the instrument. Gradually you learn to read the notes.

For those who wish, I give AMV (General Musical Education)
Here you practice extra on reading, rhythm, general & specific hearing exercises, and theoretical knowledge.

Those who are going to higher music studies and experience a gap in music theory can come to me for specific training. I also guide students for solfège who are taking their entrance exam for KMC and also during their student trajectory. Here is more explanation.

The lessons are individual and adapted to each student.

For toddlers aged 4 to 6 who are learning to play the piano, I follow a method based on a musical fairy tale.
It is a method that meets the child's world of experience.
They discover the possibilities of the instrument and the way of writing songs. Step by step they learn to play and sing songs on the piano.

For harp I can advise to start at 6 years. Fingers at 4 years are still too tender to pluck strings. 6 years is a better age to start harp playing. They play on a small instrument that is appropriate for their age.

For children who start from the age of 7, I use a different method book for piano and the child's world of experience is also taken into account.

For children who start playing the harp at that age, the method book is also aimed at the child.

The method books are therefore tailored to the age and capabilities of the child, teenagers and adults.

For students at the college who are going to study music professionally, the subject 'music theory' is included in the curriculum. In case of shortcomings in music theory, the specific needs are updated.
Both theory, lecture in G and F clef, performance of rhythm in all time signatures, rhythm dictation, intonation training, intonation dictation, recognition of intervals melodic and harmonic, rhythmic-melodic dictation can be updated to make up for deficiencies.

I can guide students in music as a hobby, as well as in music professionally.

My approach is about discovering music from different angles and sensations, from listening and touching to reading and learning, which creates a good balance for an efficient and relaxed way of working.

I focus on technique, musicality, analyse, but mostly I try to demonstrate how these are all bound together.

I only work with scores (music sheets) which is according to me the best way to learn. I encourage classical repertoire but I’m open to anything.

I studied both jazz and classical at the Antwerp Conservatory. However, I only play classical and I prefer to teach it.
I can definitely also help with chords: learning to accompany pop/jazz songs, etc.
