My methodology is simple. Who plays, progresses. Thus, I believe that the best way to progress on the guitar is the direct integration in a group playing context. That is to say, after having reviewed the essential basics of the guitar (main chords, transition from one chord to another, rhythmic, ...), I intend to play with the student and let him express his creativity, let it wake up little by little.
I would therefore like to organise each session on a different theme where we would find: a simple and short theory point followed by a practical application of this and an illustration through a known piece. I will of course listen carefully to my student's preferences as to the choice of musical genre.

Bring your wildest ideas to life, learn the guitar!

About Me
I graduated with a Master's degree in Environmental Science and Technology from the University of Gembloux.
Regarding the guitar, I discovered it during my adolescence and haven't let go since then. Having become a real passion for me over the years, I decided to start passing on what I know to any student motivated to learn the workings of this instrument.

Marianna
Hello everyone,

Μy name is Marianna and I am a concert artist and guitar tutor. I have nurtured a profound love for classical guitar since my childhood and commenced my musical journey at the age of 10. After attending the National Conservatory of Athens, I graduated with the highest honours. Furthering my studies, I joined the Royal Brussels Conservatory, where I undertook the Bachelor of Music programme under the tutelage of Antigoni Goni.

Keen to explore different cultures and musical scenes, I opted to pursue further studies in Berlin, where I trained under Rainer Feldmann. Whilst studying at the Universität der Künste in Berlin, I cultivated a distinct passion for Baroque music and received tutelage in Baroque guitar and theorbo from Sam Chapman.

During my studies, I provided private guitar tutoring and also taught at a state music school in Berlin/Brandenburg for five years from September 2018 until August 2023. During this time, I created and oversaw a guitar class of more than 35 students of diverse ages and skill levels. To complement my teaching methodology, I formed three guitar ensembles, ranging from trios to quintets, which incorporated chamber music.

After at least twelve years of teaching guitar to several children and adults, I firmly believe that students should have hands-on experience with the instrument from their very first lesson, and at the same time be introduced to music theory.

I follow a method that emphasizes the development of critical basics in my students to enable them to comprehend music and the instrument through theory and solfeggio, utilizing scores instead of tablatures. Depending on the preferences of the student, we can explore a diverse range of repertoires, encompassing classical and folk genres, among others.

Throughout my teaching career, I have worked effectively and efficiently with learners of all ages and experience levels, from complete novices to those readying themselves for university-level assessments (such as Grade 8 ABRSM).

I am proficient in English, German, and Greek, and possess a rudimentary understanding of French.

My music studio is located in Saint Gilles, Brussels, and is open to all interested learners.

Thank you very much,

Marianna

Who am I: Today a songwriter and producer of my musical project, I followed a complete course in classical guitar (finger style) as an adult in the academy and then spent a year at the Liège conservatory after passing the entrance exam. After this successful year, I decided to start my own musical project.

What: Today I teach acoustic guitar accompaniment in a song-pop style. The guitar has become for me an instrument that I use on a DAILY basis to compose sketches of harmony before developing them with other instruments and recording them in my home studio.

You: like to sing/compose and you want to be able to accompany yourself with the guitar throughout the repertoire of POP – ROCK songs or do you want to be able to accompany someone? You want to develop solid rhythmic – harmonic (chords) – melodic bases and work on your left hand/right hand technique in order to make it more flexible, more precise, more flexible; to finally be able to string together all these chords (in first position or in barre -reversal-) in rhythm or finger style (arpeggios) without thinking about it anymore, to be followed by someone who will give you a clear and complete learning structure? So keep reading.

How: When we contact you, I will need to understand where you are in your learning journey. If you are a beginner, you can enter directly into the program which will help you progress in rhythm, harmony, melody and finger flexibility and which includes well-known titles from the pop/rock repertoire in each lesson. If you have the basics, we will pick up where you left off. You will then have to tell me what you like and what you like less so that you can get the best out of your existing course.
