I want to help you speak English with confidence and give you tips and tricks on how to realistically learn the language without being bogged down in grammar and other rules.
Before I moved to old Blighty, I lived in Norway for over twenty years. I speak and write fluent Norwegian (bokmål) as well as English. Over the years I've done translation work for family and friends, and I'm now ready to bring my skills to a wider audience.

History of art history, art valuation and art market. For beginners, bachelors and masters
Art history is a hobby for some people, for others it is a working tool to analyse the social and cultural context. It helps you to orientate yourself in the world of rapid change and globalisation. The understanding of cultural discourse is a rich and unique background which may impress your interlocutor and gain you points in the eyes of your friends and colleagues. One of the main goals I try to achieve as a tutor is to encourage my students to explore the art world around them. In my lessons, I create a friendly environment to teach how to analyse paintings having factual information, and how to look at the art from the big scale perspective. The lessons are specifically tailored to my student's interests, weaknesses and concerns and from this nurture a solid learning style that they will be able to take with them to further education. I have a methodical approach to learning where every lesson is planned, and materials are distributed afterwards to the student. I am always ready to adapt the lessons quickly to the level of the student’s preparation and knowledge, receiving feedback from parents, students or teachers.

Private lessons in History-Geography-Contemporary History- Ancient History
History is a subject often considered uninteresting. But I try to design my course according to your needs, your difficulties and even facilities in order to create a course in which you will flourish. Also, I am a student in History and therefore I can help you with the methodology and recommend several books to deepen your subjects. The course will be divided according to the periods: First, Ancient Rome, from Romulus to the death of Nero where we will study the different aspects of Roman life and its politics. Then, we will study the modern era with the plague epidemics, life under the old regime and the various kings as well as their life at court without forgetting the religious wars. The Middle Ages will be studied from the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476. We will go through Clovis, religion but also royalty. Finally, the contemporary era (where I am most comfortable), where we will study the Catholic Church, the working world but also the global aspects of this period. We will also focus on the two world wars with the civilian impacts they had. If you want a course on the HGGSP, we will follow the program according to the pace you study in class. I would also like to train you orally, by doing some courses, by teaching you to master a PowerPoint and finally by teaching you the methodology of the dissertation, the presentation, the text commentary and finally the bibliography.

History for School aged children and teenagers - and adults seeking specific requested topics
History defines our surroundings, our identity, our nations, and our life in any way we do not always see. For myself, I have always had a deep passion for making history fun, exciting and captivating, something my students will experience in my classes, in which, through the medium of storytelling and class interaction I will take them through a journey through time learning about key historical periods related to their learning curriculum at school. I hold and BA in History and Politics (2:1) and an MSc in Heritage Studies (Merit), both from the University of Stirling, in which my research into Scottish Social history was well-praised by my tutors during my dissertations. During my time at university, and work at NGS I have cultivated extensive knowledge about Medieval Scottish history, the Viking era, and Ancient history such as the Egyptians, WWI & WWII, and Industrial British history, amongst many others. This knowledge enables me to ensure Primary and High School students can be taught the history curriculum at School by just one person. I am also open to requests about certain topics outside mainstream High Education curriculums, in which students would like me to research a topic and tutor them about it.

Tutoring for primary school aged children in UK and further afield
I am passionate about working with children and young people and have done this for over 12 years working in schools, social services and charities. I have worked with children and young people experiencing homelessness, in local authority care, and who are receiving weekly support from agencies. I have also worked with families whose children are home schooled and world schooled. I love nothing more than seeing children and young people's confidence increase as they learn new skills and information. I also have over 12 years experience working with children, young people and adults with learning difficulties/learning disabilities/disabilities/additional needs ranging from ADHD to ASD to global development delay and understand the need to adapt tutoring accordingly dependent on the individual's needs. I am living in the UK but will be soon travelling the world with my son and exploring the world schooling lifestyle so love the fact I can tutor from wherever I am in the world. I tutor the following subjects and levels: English (from nursery to year 9) Welsh (from nursery to GCSE), History (from nursery to GCSE), Religious Studies (from nursery to GCSE), French (from nursery to GCSE) All of the above subjects were my favourite subjects in school. Mathematics (primary school age - in English and Welsh; secondary school age to GCSE - in Welsh only) Geography (nursery to year 9) Science (primary school age - in English and Welsh; secondary school age to GCSE - in Welsh only) I am also happy to tutor students who are learning English and Welsh and want to improve their skills with a native speaker. I can also tutor functional skills. I can also tutor through the medium of Welsh as I am a native Welsh speaker and completed all my education through the medium of Welsh. I can also tutor English as a second and/or foreign language to children and young people (ESL/EFL). I enjoy exam preparation work and adapt how I tutor dependent on the needs of the student. A bit about me, I love travelling, spending time with my children and grandchild, learning about other cultures, Netflix binges, reading (I am a huge bookworm) and enjoy keeping fit. I love dance-I am an ex-dancemum as my daughter was a passionate dancer from a young age and I used to own a dance workshop business bringing choreographers from abroad to the UK. I am a very patient, kind and caring person and will try my best to make sure that any student is happy with how I work and if they aren't I will adapt my ways to suit them as they are the ones that need to benefit from it and if something I am doing doesn't work then I will try different ways until they are happy. I am a firm believer in letting children and young people lead the session even if I am working on specific topics but I keep them focused on the task at hand too.
