Singing Lessons - from Musical Theatre to Classical!

Learn how to use every single part of your voice and to sing everything you've always wanted to sing - all in a healthy way that actually feels good! I have a background in classical music and with this foundation, you will learn how to utilize your entire body in an aligned way that helps you find your true singing voice!

We will explore sounds and sensations in our bodies, engaging different muscles groups in our abdomen and back, breathing exercises, and making various shapes with our mouths to change our sound. All of this (and more) falls within the larger concept of Vocal Technique, which every good singer needs to keep their voice healthy for many years to come.

I will ask you the goals you wish to achieve, or we can figure them out together, so that you can see and feel real progress happening within your body and voice and understand how to practice and better your vocal technique at home too!

We will also cover music theory basics where needed so that you become skilled in reading and sight-reading sheet music as well. These lessons are designed and tailored to you and your success, so if you're ready to discover the possibilities of your body, mind, and voice then I am really excited to work with you!

I am Canadian singer who moved to the Netherlands a few years ago and now I work as a freelance professional musician and teacher. My vocal journey has been interesting, from changing voice types, from losing my voice to not understanding it at all, I've been through a lot with my instrument. Now, I want to help others find the tools they need to create a healthy full-bodied sound with their voices and feel confidence in their singing. I perform as a soloist as well as in choirs and I have experience and passions for many genres of music. I really appreciate the exploration of helping someone find their unique sound.

Jawa (1996) a Syrian oud player, singer and composer.
I was born in Aleppo, and I grew up in Damascus, Syria. I started playing music at the age of eleven. I chose the Oud as my instrument because my father used to play it everyday at home when I was young. Gradually, I fell in love with it and now I feel an unlimited feeling of freedom while playing it. Graduated from Rotterdam Conservatory in 2021.
