Chess strategy, tactics, thinking and psychological traits
Trusted teacher:
Greetings! I am a chess coach at the Uxbridge Chess Club in West London and I currently coach kids and teenagers who are looking into improving their game skills. With an ECF ELO score of 1800, I particularly enjoy going through the strategy and tactics surrounding chess, as well as the psychology of the player, which is often deemed to play a crucial role in the outcome of a game. When coaching, I always employ a player-focused strategy. Indeed, I believe that the most efficient way to learn is by letting the individual discover their strengths and potential. Feel free to contact me for a chat!

Mathematics, Statistics, Economics and Exam technique
Trusted teacher:
Maths, Economics: I teach Mathematics and Economics to GCSE and A-level students. Since this year there will not be any exams I would like to help students target their weakest areas and strengthen their overall and in depth understanding of those subjects. This will benefit them tremendously later on when the difficulty of the material increases and requires more profound understanding. At times like this it can be a challenge to keep students mentally stimulated. At the same time due to the amount of time available it is a unique opportunity to greatly improve their knowledge and understanding before they move onto the next stage of their education.

Understand the basics of Cell biology/Chemistry/Biochemistry w me!
Trusted teacher:
We all are composed of trillions of cells. Cell is the smallest unit that can live on its own. If you thoroughly learn the basics about the cells in general, you will easily understand more complicated mechanisms that take part in animal ́s, human ́s or plant ́s bodies. I would help you to figure out what is the structure of different types of cells (information about different cell componentss). You will learn about important cell mechanisms (how cells work together, cell cycle, division of the cell). If you are willing to understand some areas in Chemistry or Biochemistry, I am also able to help you with that, just write me a message. I obtained Bachelor's degree in Molecular biology and biochemistry at Charles University in Prague. I have 2 years of teaching experience, I was teaching course World of Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) at secondary school. Nowadays I am studying at Brunel University London.

Maths isn't Boring (well not always). Online or in Person
Trusted teacher:
I always try to translate maths into real world examples that you can relate to AND I try make the lessons funny (it is possible with maths!). The combination will help you remember what you have learnt. I am happy to teach from the top of junior school/primary school through to UK A-Level or equivalent - eg Australian High School Cert or IB I am VERY experienced in remote & online working/presentation/training etc. I have full fibre broadband and use a pen tablet for writing & sketching maths expressions & graphs. I have amassed a toolbox of various web based tools and resources fit-for-purpose for tutoring maths online. assuming it is online or in Windsor (Berks). If I have to drive within 5 miles of Windsor, then it's a little more. Beyond that, it's online or, while I'd like to help you, honestly it isn't worth it for me or you. In that case am sure you will find another good tutor closer.

Aim for an A* (Biology) GCSEs / A-level preparation
Trusted teacher:
Typically, people often associate Biology with large amounts of memorisation, and that is absolutely correct. To do well in Biology, at least at a GCSE/A-level standard, 2 things are required: 1. Memorise the information 2. Complete some practice questions on each topic you've memorised It's as simple as that. Now, there are ways to streamline process 1. and 2. so you can maximise efficiency with regards to memorisation & application. And that's where I come in - studying medicine has only strengthened my ability to cope with large amounts of information & apply it in various scenarios, so you will be in safe hands with me as your tutor. However, I will require a level of cooperation & discipline from the student to ensure there is concrete progress

Maths for All beginners Intermediate Advanced A levels
Students use different methods to solve problems. Supporting them with the materials they need involve providing a selection of accessible math manipulatives. Some students prefer using a number line to solve integer problems. Others may prefer two-colored math chips to solve the problem. Students should have access to either method they prefer. Giving students access to use the method and manipulatives they need to find a solution to problems is a sign of an effective classroom.
