My Tutoring Approach & Lesson Structure
Teaching Method & Techniques
I’m a 5× state‐champion coach with 8 years’ karate experience and a true kata perfectionist. Every movement is broken down into its core elements—stance, timing, focus and breathing—so you build rock‐solid fundamentals. I use slow‐motion drills, mirror work, and video feedback to fine‐tune your form and cultivate the spirit behind each kata.
Typical Lesson Plan (60 min)
Warm‐Up & Mobility (10 min): Dynamic stretching and joint prep tailored to the day’s kata.
Technique Breakdown (20 min): Step‐by‐step dissection of key kata sequences, practiced in slow motion.
Full Kata Run‐Through (15 min): Perform the complete kata at competition pace, with real‐time corrections.
Kata Values & Mindset (10 min): Discussion on the history, application, and philosophical principles behind each form.
Cool‐Down & Q&A (5 min): Static stretching and personalized feedback to guide your next steps.
What Sets Me Apart
Kata Perfectionist: I don’t just teach moves—I instill the precision, spirit, and intent behind every technique.
Proven Mentor: Over the years I’ve guided dozens of students to state and national podiums, transforming beginners into high‐level competitors.
Values‐Driven: Discipline, respect and focus are woven into every session—karate becomes more than a sport, it becomes a way of life.
