I offer specialised English language tutoring and academic support for undergraduate, masters and PhD students writing and presenting in English. I can also support preparations for UK University applications and interviews. I also provide support for business professionals wishing to improve and gain confidence at presenting in English.
I adapt my teaching style to meet each student’s unique needs, emphasizing effective communication, confidence, and fluency over textbook-based exercises. My lessons are generally informal, focusing on conversations and discussions around specific themes. I also incorporate task-based learning projects, such as role-playing for mock presentations, interviews, and applications, to help students develop practical language skills, build confidence, and overcome blockages and barriers in communication.
Examples of classes I provide:
– Academic writing and research paper preparation at undergraduate, master's and PhD levels
– Presentation skills coaching for academic conferences and professional contexts
– Interview preparation, practice, support and coaching
– University application support, including UCAS applications for UK universities
– Specialised Oxbridge interview preparation and coaching
– Guidance for academic journal publication, including manuscript preparation and editing
– Academic skills (research writing, critical analysis, academic conventions)
– Professional writing support (reports, proposals, business communications)
– Research methodology and academic argument construction
– Personal statement and research proposal development
