Learn to make drawings/sketches with pencil and graphite (9H to 12B). Each session will allow you to discover and practice a specific technique. Between two sessions, targeted exercises will allow you to progress in a measurable way, in small steps. In drawing, there are no miracles: it is practice, training, perseverance, which are the sources of progress. All materials will be provided to you (pencils, papers). During the first session, a series of examples of my creations will offer you a concrete overview of the techniques and styles that I can help you master.

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. Procreate is an extremely versatile program used by digital artists including Fashion Designers and Story Board Artists. This class will teach you how to use procreate efficiently to create beautiful art that can be easily put on to your camera roll. I teach realism, hyperrealism, abstract, and animated drawing and colour rendering (aka just colouring) techniques as well as proportions, colour theory, and occasionally Fashion illustrations. I will also teach tips and tricks useful for using Procreate with ease.

I have academic teaching experience from the TU Eindhoven, where I graduated in architecture. I can teach you how to construct perspective, make concept sketches, but also how to overcome a creative block by working with the non-dominant (creative) part of your brain. I'll be teaching you the subjects I can see you have most difficulty with - be it figure drawing, perspective, concept art or even going back to fundamentals as a reminder. I do both traditional and digital art, so I can also teach you how to move from one media to another without fear! Before our first lesson - Do you have time for homework? - Do you prefer a more objective explanation as opposed to a more detailed one? - Do you prefer learning all the theory first and then practicing later all at once, or to take it in small chunks? - How experienced are you in art? - Do you prefer a more casual class or one that challenges you every time? Just a tiny PSA - if you're starting out from the very beginning with the fundamentals, please bear with me for a couple of classes because it will probably be super boring at first!
