Everyone learns in their own way. This is why I do not adopt a rigid method, but rather I adapt to the specificities of each student. I assess their level, their strengths, any weaknesses or delays, and I adjust my course accordingly. I work in a very natural way, making the student able to speak simple sentences from the very first class. As a general rule I try to teach my classes in Italian, so that the student gets a very effective "full immersion" from the very beginning (support languages, like Dutch, English or French are used if absolutely necessary).
At the same time I pay attention to accuracy in pronunciation and grammar.
If the student is also interested in Italian literature, we start reading literary texts as soon as fluency in reading allows, according to the student's level and preferences.

Je viens d’une petite ville de Ligurie, dans le nord de l’Italie, et je suis actuellement en train de terminer un doctorat en philosophie. Latin is an extinct language from which Romance languages come from. It was a sign of prestige to have a good command of Latin in the past, and the language is still praised today.

However, many students struggle with Latin. That's why I tutor children; so that they continue to struggle and they can succeed with the small number of Latinists. Being tutored by a student is different for the child than from a teacher, and this can be helpful. I understand where and why they struggle, because I was in their feet several years ago.

How I approach my tutoring depends on the topic and your child's struggles. That is why the time is not specific: if your child has not mastered the material after one hour, we can stay longer; or conversely, if he understands it quickly, then we can end the tutoring faster.
