I like to keep it varied - a fun lesson but with loads of grammar improvement, vocabulary but also games to consolidate these. Lessons are tailor-made to what you want. I use several books and methods to make your lesson topnotch. I teach online via Zoom or here in my home. Every lesson of 50 min I sent all details home so you can revise what we have done and you can see your homework. I am a Certified Teacher of Dutch as an Additional Language and I have a University Degree in teaching Dutch Language and Literature from Leiden University. I have specialized in teaching Dutch as a Second Language at Hogeschool Amsterdam. I have lived abroad for 17 years so know a lot of living abroad. Having been an expatriate myself I like teaching people from other cultures. I speak good English and have some understanding of German, French and Spanish. I have been teaching Dutch since 1995 in the States - in Iowa - and since 2016 in Leiden - when I came back from living in Scotland, South East Asia and the States - in my own little company Doses of Dutch. Since 2019 I teach two groups of students in Wassenaar for four mornings a week as well. Usually people buy a package of ten lessons.

This class, specifically, is for people who are not native Dutch speakers and wish to sharpen their skills. The level you are on now does not matter, if anything, the less you know the more room there is for improvement! I have been tutoring and teaching Dutch for quite some time and have therefore gained a significant amount of experience. I am very much willing to take the time and make you grow step by step. Or, if by any chance, you need one-time help with for example an assignment then this is fine too!

Prepare in an efficient, intensive way for the ITNA (Interuniversity Language Test Dutch), based on tailor-made exercises. We practice together on language in use, grammar and vocabulary, gap texts, structuring exercises, dictation, presentations and argumentation. If you already know the language, but you cannot pronounce it very well and you want others to understand you, I can teach you the correct accent of that language. It may seem difficult to you at first, but we will practice together via the webcam and you will see that with my help it will only become easier for you. You will pronounce the language well. Practice makes perfect.

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course.
