I am an experienced Primary School teacher, who has recently left full time teaching in order to devote more of my time to my tutees. Specialising in 11 Plus, Primary school level Maths and English, in my tutoring approach, I like building a dialogue with my pupils which allows them to enjoy and take ownership of their learning. Once targets are identified, I put together lesson plans that will cater to my pupil's needs and learning style. At the core of my practice lies keeping my students engaged and passionate about learning. I succeed in this through the use of interactive resources, varying tasks, scaffolding and discussion. Over the years, my Eleven Plus students have been offered places in a range of Grammar, Independent and other selective schools. Thus, I have experience with a range of testing systems (GL, CEM, ISEB, Kent and more).

Born in London, I moved to Cyprus at the age of 12 and continued my secondary education at a private English school. From there, I completed a BA in English Literature, followed by an MA in Media and Human Rights, and a qualification in Primary School Education (age range 5-11) back in the UK. I have a keen interest in Literature related to Mathematical phenomena and novels. I am a native English speaker and also fluent in Turkish.

I have a BA in French and Spanish and a 168h TEFL Level 5 Certificate.

I have worked as a tutor in Italy, UK and Vietnam. I have extensive experience working with students whose ages vary from 4 to 18 years old.

Having learnt languages myself, I understand the difficulties one may undergo when learning a language. For this reason, I have a vast variety of activities which I like to use to keep my lessons interesting and exciting, and to maintain focus levels high!

I can offer a variety of lessons and topics including: conversational English; Business English; English for Travelling; Tips for studying abroad.

Websites such as Maths genie and corbettmaths will be used to help the student understand every topic there is to know. Additionally, they'll collaborate with classmates on problem-solving exercises fostering teamwork and critical thinking skills. Hands-on activities and real-world examples will provide context and relevance to the mathematical concepts being taught. Regular assessments, including quizzes and tests, will be used to gauge understanding and track progress. My math class aims to cultivate not only proficiency in mathematical techniques but also a deeper appreciation for the beauty and utility of mathematics in the world around us.
