About Me

Specialized for children between 8 and 25 years old. But of course, lessons are also given to students over 25.
Elmar is a certified musician (HBO) and is also in possession of a VOG statement.

Since the corona crisis, we have been able to switch quickly with current students and new students so that we can continue the quality of the lessons via video lessons. We have software that we connect via Skype so that we can guarantee the quality of our lessons. A trial lesson can therefore also be taken digitally.

• When a student does not yet know what he / she wants, an orientation lesson can be started. This includes the instruments: piano, guitar, ukulele, bass guitar and vocals.
Ultimately, one of these 5 instruments can be chosen.
• A student can immediately start with lessons for 1 instrument: guitar, piano, bass or ukulele.
• Besides these instruments I also teach writing and composing / arranging a song. Outside of the writing part, it's also about transferring, recording, and working out a song.
This also involves a piece of singing lessons and performance.
• If an instrument still needs to be purchased, you can always contact me for free advice.
• I like to tailor lessons per student, this means that the first few lessons are also used by looking at what the student would like to learn and what his / her pace is. Professional music/guitar lessons from a certified teacher.
The course is adapted to the wishes and level of the student. I also give singing and piano/keyboard lessons. The lessons can be given at home or at my home. It is important to have your own instrument, although you can also use one of mine if you do not yet have an instrument.

As many musical instruments, piano tells a story, expresses emotional experiences, communicates desires and wishes.

This class is for people (teenagers, young adults, or adults) who have always had the passion for piano but never had the opportunity to learn how to play. This class is also for those who simply want to improve their piano skills, going from a beginner to intermediate level.

This class has two major focuses:

1. For beginners: main focus on on piano practice, learning new songs with incremental difficulty, and understanding of the music sheet.

2. For intermediates: main focus on intermediate/advanced songs with in depth comprehension of the music sheet.

Skills you will acquire:

1. Beginners: you will learn how to play basic piano songs and obtain a basic knowledge of the music sheet.

2. Intermediates: you will learn how to play more complex songs and obtain a more advanced comprehension of the music sheet. Furthermore, you will learn the basis for piano music composition.

I want this class to keep students challenged, but absolutely not overwhelmed. So, I will evaluate the few homeworks that I assign after every session and provide constructive feedbacks, in order for you to better learn.

Hello!

I offer piano lessons for people at any level. I have experience with beginners, intermediate and advanced players. I have experience with students from age 12 to senior students.

I have experience playing and performing music from the Early Baroque to Contemporary Music. Nevertheless, my expertise remains in music from Bach to post-romantic and neoclassic composers. I also have experience performing piano Spanish music (Manuel de Falla, Isaac Albéniz, and Enric Granados).

I also offer Music Theory, Harmony, Solfege, Musical Dictation and Ear Training Lessons.

I have some notions on Jazz piano, and I can definitely teach Rock and Pop piano. Nevertheless, my expertise remains in Classical Piano playing and performing.

I would prefer not to teach at my place since I am currently living in a student house with a lot of people living in it... But if you are OK with this, then I see no problem!
