Hi!

I ́m Marta, a mathematics teacher working full-time at the University of Amsterdam since 2020.
I specialize in helping students prepare for OMPT exams and university-entry mathematics. My goal is to make math understandable and manageable. I focus on building real understanding rather than memorization, simplifying complex topics through clear explanations and intuitive examples.
I create personalized materials tailored to each student, helping lessons feel organized, visual, and easy to follow. I can help you develop an effective strategy for your exams.
Lessons are available in English or Spanish, either online or face-to-face depending on location. Small group lessons (maximum 3 students) can also be arranged.
For online lessons, I use video calls, a graphic tablet, and a digital whiteboard to make sessions interactive and effective. The methodology remains just as dynamic and personal as in-person classes, and I am fully committed to helping students progress and gain confidence.

Education

My background is in Architecture, with a Master’s in Technology & Construction and a Master’s in Teaching Education. I also have Montessori training to support students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve taught students at many different levels, from secondary school to university. Before moving to the Netherlands, I worked in Spain in schools, high schools, and vocational training centres. I also have broad experience working with international students and adapting lessons to different learning styles and educational systems.

In my class we will go through the theory and always will brush up on any concepts the student is weak in, no matter how elementary. We will finish up on a concept by going through lots of exercises and exam style questions. I have a lot of useful study resources for A Levels, IGCSE, IB and the SATs which will can be a great supplement in test preparation.

This is where I come in. Since I was a kid I struggled with those areas. But when I learned them correctly, I loved them. I loved math and chemistry so much that I decided to study Chemical Engineering.

During my studies in Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam (graduated in 2015, MSc.) and in addition to my job as a consultant, I have always taught mathematics and statistics to secondary school students and university students (HBO and WO) with great pleasure. I am Mavi, a physics engineer working at an aerospace company.
I have been teaching private lessons at the primary, secondary, high school, and university preparatory levels for 9 years. I teach mathematics, physics, chemistry, and science. I have a good command of the curricula of IB, IGCSE, American, Hong Kong, and international schools.

Additionally, I hold the position of president at the Astronomy Society, where I foster my students' interest in astronomy and science beyond the lessons. Hi! My name is Dorus, and I am currently completing my master's degree in Econometrics and Data Science. I have a background and bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Economics; During my bachelor's degree I worked at a pension provider and a private bank, and I spent a year on the board of an investment club for students.

My name is Christelle, I recently graduated from a research masters in Genetics and Psychology and I am now working as a PhD student in the genetics of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

If you are struggling with a specific subject, we can look together at what you are good at and what we can best focus on during the sessions. A few subjects that I have coached students in in the past are: mathematics, business economics, economics, arithmetic, accounting/accountancy, cost accounting, managerial accounting, financial accounting, corporate finance, risk management and investments. I give tips on which information is most important, how you can best prepare for the subject, and how you can best read test questions. This method has proven to be very effective!

During my sessions I coach almost everyone! From pupils at the vmbo to (almost) graduates at the university, in all financial-economic subjects. Because of this I have developed a coaching structure that is effective, efficient, and fun.

During exam training I work with old exams with a focus on the latest developments in the field. In this way I ensure that students get a good grip on the exam material and enter the exams with confidence. During the training I teach the students how an exam is structured so that they feel familiar with the final exam.

Tutoring or homework support are designed in consultation. Some pupils or students benefit from doing assignments together, while others need more explanation of the theory.

Taught by Niketha, a Computer Science undergraduate from the University of Florida (Presidential honor roll, Summa cum laude) - this class offers comprehensive instruction in mathematics.
