Turkish lessons for all levels from a philosophy student (native speaker)
From 25 € /h
I offer Turkish language lessons for all levels. I grew up in Turkey and lived there for 19 years, therefore I'm proficient in the street-usage of the language, its vernaculars for different regions and the academic/literary usage of Istanbul Turkish in reading and writing. I'm a philosophy student at KU Leuven at the moment, which allows me to understand English and Turkish languages in their semiotic levels and teach them with an easy to grasp pedagocial perspective.
I can also help with Turkish history, culture, politics, literature and music with a non-nationalistic point of view, since I see Turkey not as a homogenous nation, but as a union of multiple cultures and ethnicities. This will become apparent when we dive into the various etymological roots of Turkish vocabulary, including Greek, Armenian, French, Kurdish, Arabic, Persian, etc.

About Me
I study philosophy at KU Leuven. My main interests in philosophy are French poststructuralism, psychoanalysis, aesthetics and political philosophy. I'm also interested in cultures, literature, language and music. I studied in an American high-school in Istanbul before coming to Belgium, which allowed me to combine both Anglophone and Turkish curriculums while becoming proficient in both languages.
