Hello there!

I'm Peter, a professional jazz pianist from Hungary. I offer piano lessons in English or Hungarian languages, mostly focused on jazz, however other genres are also welcome depending on Your interest in music!

I'm currently finishing my master's studies in the jazz department of Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. I have experience in teaching music to children and adults, from beginner to advanced levels. I can also provide help in music theory, ear training, composing and improvisation or to help get prepared for an entrance exam in a music school.

Hey!

I'm Peter, a jazz pianist from Hungary.
Music is a huge part of my everyday life, and teaching it also became my passion. I love to see people improving their musical skills and to help to get the best out of my students. My lessons are informal and mostly contain of playing music!

I started playing the piano from the age of 6 and studied classical music for 15 years.

I'm actively performing music and had the chance to perform in various countries already like Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Finland and the USA. My first record called 'Reaching North' was released in 2022. I have experience in teaching beginners as well as more advanced students.

I can provide you private drum lessons, that are tailored completely by your own interests, or I can advice you what would be efficient for you to improve, depending on where you stand with your experience and skills. We can together discuss about setting a goal, and start working your way towards it.

You don't have to have previous experience in playing the drums. You can be an absolute beginner, intermediate, or more advanced student. I also teach all ages.

Some things that we can go through in lessons:

-Overall knowledge over the instrument
-Tuning & setting up the drums
-Posture & technique
-Groove & timing. Playing with a metronome
-Sound & dynamics
-Different styles (jazz, soul, funk, hiphop, latin, pop/rock etc.)
-Rudimental playing (classical etudes to improve your technique)
-Reading, writing & transcribing drum notes/fills/solos etc.
-Improvisation
-Polyrhythms

Everything is possible! :)
You just need to show up, grab a pair of sticks with you, and we can see what interests you and we may go further.

Whether you're a complete beginner or have been taking piano lessons for years, I would be delighted to share my passion for music and piano playing with you! :)

I will tailor our lessons to fit your preferences, incorporating any genre you wish. We can follow a textbook and have a clear set of goals with scales and exercises, or we can learn your favourite songs with the right accompaniment. Do you want to improve in music theory or sight-reading (prima vista)? We can include that as well!
