Why I provide Apprentus?

I attribute much of his success from advice, skills, and lessons mentors so generously shared with me early on in my career. These valuable relationships continue to this day and have become reciprocal when it comes to solving difficult design problems, critiques and advice. These mentors have been an integral part of his professional journey, as advice has gone beyond the work itself to dealing with work/life balance, studio cultures, mundane but essential admin issues; marketing, taxes, etc.
I am now offering mentorships to repay those who have helped me, and to provide that much-needed support for mentees looking to break into the industry as a concept artist or illustrator.

About me:

I began my career in Ireland working as a storyboard artist for brands like Sony, Dunnes Stores and Lifestyle Sports. Having always had a passion for film, I transitioned into the film industry interning at SSVFX working on titles such as 'Room' and 'Black Sails'. This led to a move to London where I worked in-house at Painting Practice. Currently, I am working remotely as a freelancer while traveling the world. I work on film titles at the highest level, such as 'Black Mirror', 'His Dark Materials' and 'Artemis Fowl' for clients like Disney, Warner-Bros, Netflix and HBO. My illustrations have been featured in both national and international publications such as The Irish Examiner and Paizo Inc's 'Pathfinder' and 'Starfinder' series.

Do you want to edit your photos professionally or make new creations in Photoshop?

In a few private lessons I will teach you all the important skills, so that you can do everything you want.

I am an (art) photographer and teacher and I have been giving private Photoshop lessons for over 12 years.

Private lessons are available in the afternoon and evening and on Saturdays. I teach via video calling or personally in Amsterdam East.

I tailor the lessons to your needs, interests and pace so that you effectively learn what you want. I work with a minimum of two hours per lesson. Longer lessons at a time are of course also possible. Ask about special student/package prices.

Nice to meet you, I'm Daniel. I'm a (private) art teacher, I'm also a freelance artist and have been working as one for about 7 years. I'm looking for students in Utrecht, I have a teaching space available in my apartment (I can share my address when you contact me), but am also able to travel to your desired space within the city.
I can also teach via webcam, but I do recommend my in-person classes, seeing as they're more immersive and educational.

I unfortunately do not speak Dutch (yet), but am confident we can overcome any potential language barrier we come across.

I have the most experience in teaching teenagers and preteens, so I think we would definitely be a good match if you're a parent or guardian looking for a teacher for your child.

Would you like to be able to illustrate the worlds and stories you imagine?

Do you want to learn how to create characters for a video game, animation, children's story, comic or in any format? Or would you like to be able to draw your favorite characters?

If you have those concerns, I would love to help you.

I like to focus the classes in such a way that the current drawing level of the student is not what is important. The room for improvement will always evolve. I like to take my classes towards character design, towards general things like the psychology of color and shapes, since they are assimilable and highly useful concepts, independent of the level of drawing. For this reason, my classes are aimed at all ages and drawing levels.

I also try to focus them on the preferences and tastes of each student, showing them that everything they like, they like for a reason, that nothing is left to chance and that they can also understand how to make their drawings reflect what they want to convey. Even to create your portfolios or visual information for your own project or story.

I give private classes with students from different parts of the world, so many of my classes I have been able to do in both English and French.

I studied 2D animation in France, and thanks to this training, my work has been nourished by dynamism, storytelling, expressiveness, typical of this medium, as well as the sensitivity for color and shapes that I usually use to infuse a unique style both to my original designs as well as my fanarts.

Drawing is a fun activity. It's very interesting to see how the lines take shape as you draw them, and it's also satisfying when you take the finished drawing home.

This workshop is aimed at people of all ages, from children to adults who love to draw and want to learn tricks and tips for drawing.

You can bring anything you like and would like to draw, whether it's a manga, a photograph, or even the actual object if you can bring it with you. If you don't have anything in particular, we'll look at the materials I've prepared together and I'll give you tips on how to draw!

You can draw on paper with a pencil or marker, or if you have a tablet, that's fine too.
