Hello, my name is Lucie and I would be delighted to help you learn English, either from scratch or to improve your knowledge. I love getting my students to speak since I think practice is the secret to learning a language and improving your knowledge. I always structure my classes around real-life themes (how to introduce yourself, how to make an appointment, how to shop, how to go to the doctor, talk at work, etc). We will see grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation together. If you are intermediate, we will also do courses on texts. We will put both grammar and vocabulary into practice. I note in writing - correction sheet - vocabulary, grammar rules to study or review, at the end of the course the vocabulary and grammar rules are recalled. I am currently teaching German on a one on one base through individualized online teaching via zoom or any other online platform. I teach German grammar as well as conversational German and German for business and/or research. In class, the students and I used these articles to study the language, discuss the vocabulary and grammar as well as the language style used. In New York, I did not teach a language, but fashion design at the University (FIT Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC) for several years. All classes were taught in English with the student body consisting of international students, which required detailed preparation of the class. At the High School of Fashion Industries (HSFI), also in NYC, I taught fashion design and creation to students grade 9 - 12. Here too, the lessons were exclusively taught in English. For my teachings, I developed daily detailed lesson plans to not only make sure that the predetermined class goals were easily reached, but also to ensure that the class content was tailored to the students' needs and that a positive learning climate was promoted.

I organise English and German lessons for children and teenagers and separately adult English group lessons (beginners to advanced). For children and teenagers, interactive activities are used as a way to motivate them, help them remember what they have learned in class and make sure they will be able to apply their language skills in real life context. For the adults lessons, depending on what the students are willing to learn, we can have discussions based on the news, some grammar, writing... I am open to any suggestions, just tell me your needs and I am going to adapt the next lessons for you.
