    About Me

Hello! (Habari!) My name is Johanes. I am a native Tanzanian Swahili language teacher. I enjoy a lot mingling with people of different races since I learn more from them. I like learning about different cultures and making new friends in the same way sharing my own experience. That is why I am very fond of teaching and learning languages. When you choose to have Swahili course with me, for sure, you make right decision. Because you will be on the hands of a teacher with over ten years Swahili teaching experience, passionate, professional and caring about student's needs. Apart from being a native speaker I also did swahili language grammar and literature in high school and university. so I am quite knowledgeable about the language.

Before the class starts, I and a student have to discuss first. Now I know all that he/she needs and his/her language masterly level. Then which approach am I going to use? This depends on discussion's outcome with my student. Flexibility is highly priotized. However communicative approach - based activities dominate most of the lessons I conduct with my students. I encourage student activeness in class. Funny but memory catching activities like role playing, simple conversations, listening to music, watching movies and all of that kind feature my class. This helps most of my students quickly master basic language skills.

My Swahili language learning classes are there for everyone from around the world. If you are planning to visit East Africa, understanding African culture, securing a job in Africa, studying in one of the East African countries or just expanding language knowledge, This is a suitable language for you to learn now. You should not forget that Swahili is the most widely spoken African language with over one hundred millions people speaking it globally and the easiest African language to learn.

    Hope to see you soon!
    KARIBU (YOU ARE WELCOME)

Learn Swahili from Beginner to Advanced, at your own pace.
I have been giving Swahili lessons since 2004. Both beginners and average speakers. Although private lessons are always adapted to your own learning needs, I try to combine both grammar and conversation skills in the lessons. In addition, culture also comes up for discussion, because in my opinion it is inextricably linked to language.
