Hello! I am a teacher in Tokyo. My lessons are particularly suited for those who need to practice their pronunciation and/or their vocabulary. My classes can also include cultural aspects of the language and Dutch society. They would be ideal to help with orientation before travelling or moving to The Netherlands. As a former primary school teacher and experienced Dutch teacher for adults and children, I enjoy helping others achieve their language goals. Together we will make a plan that fits your personal needs, whether they include exam preparation (Inburgering/Staatsexamen), being able to confidently hold (informal or formal) conversations with friends and coworkers, understanding grammar rules, being able to watch Dutch TV or anything else: I will help you get there! The lessons can be held online or on location in Amsterdam (and the surrounding area).

Are you studying at a high school or middle school level and having trouble with math, English or Dutch, I can help. I can answer questions, help study for tests or exams or help with homework. I will be working towards your goals with you. Whether that is to get good grades, get better at something in your personal time or get better to help someone around you.

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

In our class we will be relaxed, I will help you with the Dutch conversation, the grammar, reading (like an article or a topic what I will give you). I will help students for beginners-lower-intermediate level. After every lesson I will give you homework for the next lesson. Between the two lessons you can always ask me a question about the subject what we’ve discussed. If you have a subject what you’d like to learn about the Dutch language, let me know.
