Trusted teacher: Oi Tudo bem? Mijn naam is Marcelo en ik kom uit São Paulo. Ik geef Portugees en Braziliaans Portugees in Den Haag en Rotterdam. Gelukkig kan ik mijn universitaire studies en 20 jaar praktische leservaring zodanig combineren dat de lessen goed onderbouwd en stimulerend zijn. Ik heb in Brazilië en in Portugal (Coimbra) gewoond en gestudeerd, dus ben een ‘native speaker, met veel kennis van de bijbehorende cultuur. Door speling van het lot, ben ik ook tweetalig, dus kan grammatica in het Nederlands uitleggen en vice versa. Mijn training is wel gefocussed op spreekvaardigheid. Jarenlang heb ik ook business trainingen gegeven aan twee zeer bekende taalscholen, dus ik weet hoe ik in korte tijd veel kennis kan overdragen. Dat voel je als cursist al gelijk bij de eerste les. Zakelijk Portugees of met spoed leren (binnen 10 werkdagen) is ook mogelijk. Ik heb een KvK en BTW nummer. Ik heb veel ervaring met geven van lessen per Teams of Whereby (Whereby is professioneler en Europees), al voor de crisis omdat ik ook cursisten in andere landen les geef. Bij virtuele lessen ontvangt u een transcript van de les per email, na afloop van de les. Lessen bij mij thuis zijn ook mogelijk met 1,8 meter afstand en goede circulatie. Mijn lessen zijn zeer gestructureerd en stap voor stap. Daarnaast leg ik altijd het 'waarom' uit van een grammaticaal onderwerp, dat een link creëert die ook beter werkt voor het geheugen en de les interessanter maakt. Omdat ik zo resultaatgericht ben, probeer ik trainees met een zachte hand de trap naar de volle spreekvaardigheid op te helpen en mijn taak is om de lessen zo leerzaam en aantrekkelijk mogelijk te maken. But what I’m (and you should be) after is not bilingualism but instead biculturalism. We think by aid of words. Therefore language shapes thought. In part this is because working in a second language slows down the thinking. No wonder people feel different when speaking a second language. And no wonder they feel looser, more spontaneous, perhaps more assertive or funnier or blunter. Studies show that being able to speak another language is generally linked to a more flexible brain, developing the brain’s ability to plan and prioritize. Also it betters our defenses against dementia in old age. Advantages of learning Portuguese: • 250 million native speakers worldwide • 5th most common language in the world • It has been an official language since 1297 • It’s usage is spread over 4 continents (Europe, South America, Africa, Asia) Now business, The pace, duration, frequency and schedule of the classes is totally up to the student to decide. The best case scenario is 1-2x per week depending on both parties availability. Focus on diverse subjects is possible, for example, grammar, diction, reading comprehension, written production, conversational skills. In case the student has no specific requests, together we will follow the guidelines of a trusted book (that I myself bring to the class and the student doesn’t need to acquire). The classes will rely also on bilingual children’s books and audio media. This double edged approach allows for fun learning ways and cultural assimilation. In every class the student will be directly influenced by worldwide Portuguese culture ( music, history, geography). Periodically we will evaluate how the classes are evolving so as to rapidly and effectively shift focus to where it is needed.
