Trusted teacher: Looking for a highly experienced Dutch tutor? Then you've come to the right place! I'm a former economics teacher with a full-time teaching qualification who, since 2021, has dedicated myself entirely to tutoring various subjects. I did this because it allows me to do what I love most: explaining material, building student confidence, and working together to improve grades. This way, I've helped around 200 students achieve passing grades or even pass their exams over the past few years! So, while I'm a former economics teacher, my language skills also make me a great tutor in Dutch, particularly when it comes to spelling, grammar, and reading comprehension. I can also be of great help in preparing for the Dutch exam. My final grade in Dutch was an 8 in secondary school (vwo). The structure of the tutoring is always determined in consultation, but generally, I'm a big fan of starting on assignments as soon as possible. Why? Because then I can quickly see what you can already do and what you're still struggling with. I help with that. This way, I avoid unnecessary explanations of things you already know. Moreover, you can then immediately apply the explanations you do need to an assignment. This way, the material sticks much better. By the way, if you prefer tutoring at home, but I live too far away, consider trying online tutoring. I'm very experienced in that. I always give online tutoring via Google Meet, using a digital whiteboard where I can draw, color, paste, and type. This way, I can explain/demonstrate everything perfectly. I then share everything I've written on the whiteboard with you via WhatsApp so you can review all the explanations and solutions at your leisure after the lesson. Super convenient! Finally, if I had to describe myself in a few words, they would be: knowledgeable, calm, reliable, approachable, committed and tidy.

Mahmood - Gouda213 CNY
Trusted teacher: Hello! I’m Mahmood and I currently live in Gouda (South-Holland). I came to The Netherlands some time ago. As an Expat I know how tough it is to learn a new language, especially the Dutch language with its tough pronunciations and sentence structures. Being an Expat I understand much better what the challenges are that other Expats needs to go through to learn Dutch I am specialized in preparing Expats and other immigrants for the Basic Civil Integration Examination (Basisexamen Inburgering). I can also teach about the Dutch social culture and History of The Netherlands. Also I teach Dutch till A2 level or to the people who like to learn Dutch as a hobby. I teach one on one as well as to Groups (I provide discount for Groups). What can I teach you? : - Read and Write in Dutch - Sound like a Native Speaker - Participate in Basic Conversations and Use Daily Phrases - Understand and Pick Up on Basic Conversations My method of teaching: i) Starting discussion At the start, we will discuss your level and objectives. This way I can efficiently give you the help that you need. ii) Open communication I have an open way of teaching in which I encourage students to keep telling me what their difficulties are or where they would like to improve. In my experience, this saves a lot of time and also makes the lessons more fun. iii) Simplify instead of complicate I am good at listening and understanding why students are having difficulties with certain issues. The thing in which I’m best is explaining complicated things in a simple way.

Dutch
Trusted teacher: Hello! My name is Robert and I teach Dutch to expats who want to feel more confident speaking Dutch in everyday life and at work. My lessons are practical, structured and relaxed. We focus on real communication, so you learn how Dutch people actually speak. Many of my students live and work in the Netherlands and want to improve their Dutch faster. I enjoy helping students feel more comfortable using Dutch in real situations. In my lessons we work on: • speaking and pronunciation • vocabulary and sentence structure • grammar explained in a simple way • understanding Dutch culture and communication I use conversations, short texts and practical exercises so that students quickly gain confidence in speaking. My lessons are suitable for: • expats living in the Netherlands • professionals who want to use Dutch at work • students preparing for the inburgering exam • learners who want to improve their speaking skills Levels: A1 – A2 – B1 – B2 – C1 A typical lesson (60 minutes) includes: • a short conversation • explanation of new words or grammar • speaking practice • homework, exercises and feedback Students usually speak a lot during the lesson, because speaking is the fastest way to improve a language. Besides books, I also create my own teaching materials and articles, which makes the lessons more engaging and relevant to life in the Netherlands. Would you like to improve your Dutch and feel more confident speaking it? Feel free to send me a message. I will be happy to discuss your goals and help you make progress.

I need to re-study 4 years of high school maths in only 5 months. Mahmood agreed to help me with this difficult task and thanks to his professional way of teaching I believe I can make this happen. He explains topics in detail and yet quickly enough to spare time for other topics. If you are unsure he points you to the right direction. Most important thing for me was that he made me realize that I first need to master concept #1 in order to be able to later master concept #5 and so on. You can see that he has a lot of teaching experience, he tries to understand the way YOU think and based on that he serves you clear explanation for topics you struggle to understand. I definitely recommend him as your next teacher!

We focused the lessons on learning communication, rather than studying the language. We add the things we practice to a document, and he sends it at the end of the class. Even though I started from zero, he's been quite patient and kind. And by now, zero-stress with grammar/theory. After a month, I am starting to be able to have a simple conversation at a store without barely help of another language, and I am taking a liking of Dutch.
