My goal as a teacher is to help you discover how much fun, joy, and passion music can bring. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced player, I will guide you in developing both your technical skills and your personal voice on the saxophone. I began my musical journey in Verona, Italy, where I graduated in Classical Saxophone in 2017. Soon after, I started teaching saxophone at the Lizard Music Academy in Garda and introducing music to children in primary and middle schools. Later, my passion for improvisation and creativity led me to continue my studies at Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where I specialize in Jazz and Latin music. I believe music has no age: you are never too young or too old to express yourself through an instrument. If you feel drawn to the warm, expressive sound of the saxophone, let’s begin this musical journey together. “Whatever you think can’t be done, somebody will come along and do it.” – Thelonious Monk SAXOPHONE LESSONS: To truly express your musical ideas on the saxophone, you need a strong connection between body, mind, and instrument. That’s why every lesson begins with a focus on sound and technique—developing your tone, breath control, and body awareness. You will learn how to shape your own saxophone sound and how to “sing” through the instrument. For beginners, this process may take a few weeks, but it quickly shows how musical practice can positively influence not only your playing but also your body, emotions, and creativity. To make your learning experience enjoyable and personal, my lessons are always adapted to your goals and musical interests—whether that’s reading music, improvisation, or other areas you want to explore. Together, we will also build your own personal repertoire of songs that reflect who you are. The second part of each lesson will be dedicated to working on these pieces, so that you develop not only technique but also musical expression. HOW MY LESSONS WORK In my lessons, the main focus is sound. A beautiful saxophone sound has the power to captivate an audience with just a single note. That’s why we always start by working on long tones across the full register of the instrument. The more natural and relaxed your embouchure and body are, the more easily the reed will vibrate—resulting in a warmer, personal sound. We will then explore saxophone technique, including scales, arpeggios, vibrato, tonguing, dynamics, overtones, and playing in both the low and high registers. These exercises will give you the technical foundation to express yourself freely. From there, we’ll connect technique with music: 1. Harmony & Improvisation – We’ll work directly on the songs you love. By transcribing, analyzing, and exploring harmony, you’ll learn how to improvise over chord progressions and develop your own repertoire. 2. Reading Music – An essential skill if you want to play in bands, ensembles, or orchestras. We’ll practice sight-reading and written repertoire to strengthen this ability. 3. Audition Preparation – If your goal is to enter a conservatory (classical or jazz), I have experience guiding students through auditions. We can focus on etudes, required repertoire, and exam preparation. Above all, my approach is personalized to your goals and interests. Whether you want to play your favorite songs, learn to improvise, or prepare for advanced studies, I’ll guide you step by step. I believe that music makes the mind free, and that everybody can play—it’s just a matter of practicing and listening in the right way. We’ll explore the saxophone in classical repertoire (Gershwin, Bizet, Milhaud, Rota, Bernstein, Steve Reich, Michael Nyman...), and then follow its journey through popular music: Blues, Jazz (Stan Getz, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Rollins...), Latin, Rock & Roll, Pop, and beyond—right up to today’s music. Together, we will listen to the milestones of great composers and performers who shaped the history of this fantastic instrument. It’s a journey of discovery into the beauty of music through the saxophone—one that will inspire you, expand your listening, and deepen your passion for this amazing art form.

I am a classical saxophonist and music educator dedicated to sharing my passion for performance and teaching. My journey with the saxophone began at the age of twelve, and over the years I have developed a deep appreciation for both solo and chamber music performance. I strive to inspire my students to combine solid technique with genuine musical expression, helping them build confidence, discipline, and artistry in their playing. #The lessons are highly flexible. You can choose weekly sessions or monthly reviews, and lessons can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes. I offer a wide range of music resources, and you are welcome to bring your own books, pieces, or suggestions. I am based in Ghent, and lessons can take place at my studio or at your location, anywhere in Belgium. The schedule is very flexible and can be arranged according to your availability. I can teach in either English or Chinese. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me directly. Throughout my career, I have performed in various concert halls such as the Tianjin Grand Theatre and the Tianjin Concert Hall, appearing both as a soloist and as part of saxophone ensembles. I have also received several national awards, including Second Prize at the National Little Golden Bell Wind Competition (2018), First Prize at the China Musicians Association Elite Competition (2019), and the Excellent Award at the “Beautiful Sound of China” National Saxophone Exhibition (2024). Currently, I am continuing my advanced studies at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent in Belgium, working under Professors Koen Maas and Raf Minten. My teaching approach emphasizes clarity of sound, stylistic understanding, and the development of each student’s unique artistic identity.

My BIO : I completed my education at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Warsaw, under the supervision of dr hab. Paweł Gusnar and then in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, in the professor Alain Crepin’s and Simon Diricq’s class which he received a diploma with honor. My stay in Brussels allowed me to get to know rich saxophone literature of French and Belgian composers which is my specialization. I have 5 years of teaching experience at the community, high school, and college levels(Karol Lipinski Music Academy in Wroclaw, Poland). Experience includes saxophone classes, saxophone and wind ensembles and ear training. I have won awards and distinctions in prestigious and international competitions: Golden Saxophone International Competition for Young Performers in Odessa where I took second place in 2015, as well as the International Saxophone Competition „Pushkinsax” in Moscow where I also took the second award. As a chamber musician, I have been awarded in the 8e Concours pour Jeunes Saxophonistes de Dinant as well as during the New York Wind Band Festival at Carnegie Hall. I have had the honour to improve his skills while working with artists such as Claude Delangle, Vincent David, Daniel Gauthier, Christian Wirth, Claus Olesen, Dragan Sremec or Andrzej Rzymkowski. Each of them has given me a piece of own musical sensitivity and unique technique, simultaneously encouraging me to further improvement of my method. I have performed as a soloits, a member of groups or orchestras in Europe and the United Stated, giving concerts with the most outstanding musicians and thus gaining a lot of experience. I have been participating in the most important saxophone events and developing my knowledge in classical and contemporary music.

Trusted teacher: Are you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁 I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,... After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw! Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc. Book a lesson and try! He provides you with the feedback you need to learn many things at the same time: He gives you tips for a good embouchure and shows you how to blow a proper tone. He teaches you how to play in tune and introduces you to tone articulation on the saxophone, when you are ready for it. He guides your own practice efficiently, so you can be certain to not loose time. In addition, you learn to read notes and a lot about music in general. Estella is a very positive, always happy teacher. Even though my son has been having on-line lessons with her, we can always feel her positive attitude during the lessons. She is very patient, gives lots of important tips and feedback, which has been helping him to guide his learning, improving in every aspect of it.
